I vote for no gore
Mostly because it does not really add anything that I find exciting to a wonderful series of games, and it could lower the number of players (some people won't play games with gore) for no good reason. After all, it is a strategy game, and not realistic (there is a thread on this somewhere) so why include it. Most people who would buy it with gore, but not without, would lose interest quickly so not really contribute anything.

No gore... what's the point? Besides, I'd probably cry if anything that nasty happened to my Elves....
At the moment, Heros is good clean fun.... and should stay that way...

define gore...
if you mean quake-like gore with gibs flying all over the place, blood splatters etc, I say no... but if you mean reasonably realistic hit/death animations, I say YES all the way... ...no need to turn the game into it's disney version...

Wouldn't be that rated as ANIMATED VIOLENCE - i guess guys from NWC/3DO are trying to get really "E" rating - otherwise they'll have limited buyers...

Nough said & I agree funny I was talking to some friends in the zone & I said that & then said to myself I wonder what they would think but I dont think we need a bloody mess in our famous heroes game no.

well this is well known system for rating all types of media or broadcasting services - or at least in USA.
E means for EVERYONE
M means MATURE
here are the ratings for the previous Heroes game

E ("Everyone") time ago used to be named "Kids to Adults"
and look here to see the actual logos of those ratings

They are on each video/pc game in USA, something like recommendation for the parents when buying games for children.
see how E looks:
 Everyone As of January 1, 1998, the new "Everyone" designation will replace the "Kids to Adults" rating. Titles rated "Everyone (E)" have content that may be suitable for persons ages six and older. These titles will appeal to people of many ages and tastes. They may contain minimal violence, some comic mischief (for example, slapstick comedy), or some crude language.

Thnx Malkia i just fulfilled my daily need of useless knowledge by reading your post
And as far as im concerned there are many games with whatever letter rating like Quake which really is "bloody" and still children manages to play them? now isnt that weird what all those "restrictions"?
As long as the game doesnt get ridiciously bloody im happy. Enough is enough. I think its good as it is now with heroes3, no need to change anything.

I thought you don't know about it, and i've just posted a little bit informative. It seems that you knew that already, but you were creating an image to us that you didn't knew - are you playing some drama here?
The whole point of having game being E, over M is that E will get more potential buyers.. You don't see some dad going over and buying game rated M for his kid, do ya? How many of the posters here are less than 17 - i think lot? And it may not matter in Europe, but it certainly begans to matter here in USA.
