How is it off-topic? Some people think that the graphics were one of the things H6 did right, others disagree.

I believe Elvin refers to zaio-baio negative posts and just criticising.

Am I mistaken, or weren't you the one who had yet to buy and play the game?
You're half right; the demo is still taking up space on my computer.

My cousin brought his laptop during the holidays and we took turns (geddit ) playing and making fun of it.
It always froze when I tried to build barricades.

I you ask me, Heroes VI graphics is one of it's stronger points. For example, Heroes V had more of a "childish" graphics (Peasants with their bulky hands for instance). But that's just one side of it. It had beautifully rendered town screens, a lot of detail, and a nice stylish feel in many aspects. Heroes VI graphics are much more detailed and mature imo. And some of the maps and it's vistas (I especially like those valleys with waterfalls dotted with ruined monuments of kings or mythical creatures) show how powerful it's graphics engine is (remember the Anastasia's dream-themed campaign map?), and how many possibilities for map makers it gives (of course an unfriendly editor is a "bit" of a problem here). But that's my opinion.

To be honest, I liked each and every Heroes art style. Each one of them had it's pros and cons. Each game had it's own unique style and feel, some of the things were to my liking and some not. Some design choices were great some plain ugly. Art style of some Heroes games were more to my liking then the other, it's only natural. But definitely each of them deserves respect in the art department, because even if the game is buggy, it's art style is something different. It should be respected as making so many concepts and 3D models is a lot of work. Anyone has a right to like or dislike Heroes 6 graphics but summing it up in one word like "childish" or "cr*ppy" is, lightly speaking, not the best way to describe them...

Graphics are actually one of the few things Ubisoft is capable of delivering.

Just a bit too many mainstream stuff like tons of "hot" babes, like half the sanctuary faction, and other sexual innuendos in map sentences n stuff.

"Home for the king is where the queen buries his sword". The context of this sentence is the map you play where Irina finally gets revenge for all the rapes. Thank you Ubi for this word of wisdom. Thank you. lul.

Oh, oh! I got something I think they did right: Town screens.
Sure, they aren't perfect, but Ubi actually listened to feedback (most likely provided to them by the insiders)!

Do you think they will tweek or change something with the town screens in the expansion as it's a standalone? I mean, those we have are quite good, but they're definitely not polished. Many of the structures have different accents or even colors or forms, then their adventure map counterparts...

and how do you know if he's not just a better player?

can you spank him on other army sizes? other factions?

Of course I can. I am a very good player and he is as well. There is no arguing left ; just try it yourself. For heroes 6 to be balanced, every build should have at least 1 counter build from every race to match it evenly.

You'd be better off asking either Elvin, JJ or someone with a clue, but personally I wouldn't bet on it.

I don't think that was innuendo. I think they meant that until the Queen stops him (by burying his sword), he will just crusade around fighting, and then when she buries it he has to stop. Can't be sure though.

I'm a bit bothered by the various bugs in it.

- When you open a town screen, the icon in the lower left is hardly ever the actual town you have open in front of you;
- When building a structure, you often don't hear the proper building sound (the hammering), only every now and then (haven't figured out yet what conditions make it work);
- When scrolling between towns, the game will often highlight structures in the town you're scrolling to and run the audio queue of hammers beating, as if they're freshly built (this happens especially after loading a savegame);
- Buildings tend to just "pop up", instead of fading in, which sometimes makes it hard to spot just where the townscreen changed;
- The follow-up order in which the towns and forts are listed, seems to randomly change between loading savegames;

But overall, yes, I really like that they introduced them. It's great that they actually listened to the fans - finally - after having been told by them it's something that's paramount to the series ever since pre-beta.

I've had a chance to play H6 quite a bit more.
Things I like about it include the graphics, creature pooling, areas of control, hero hiring, return of fan-favorite heroes, bosses, and better campaign/story pacing.
