Sweden... lol, just get out.

If this contest was still about music, I'd find a way to get Slipknot into the show. How? Dunno, if Australia could enter, than why not send someone from the USA?
I'm sick from all the political correctness and peace&love propaganda. FFS, I came to listen to some good music, not to watch a tranvestite making out with someone. I get it - equality, freedom of choice, blah blah, but seriously, this is getting so effing annoying.

Instead of constantly trying to make homosexuals, jews (or any other sexuality, or race, or religion, etc) equal, how about you just act like it? Leave this show alone, please, and stop voting for gimmicks. Vote for good music.

Exactly my point, but Lexxan still think the she did brilliantly while Norway should have ended bottom 2 according to him.

Also ought to give rise to some consideration that five of the six songs that were autoqualified for the finals ended in bottom four. It's hard not to think that these songs scored below par because of lacking exposure in semis, because frankly, both UK, Spain and Austria had very good songs imo., and while France and Germany were not my favorites, they were certainly a lot better than Lithuania and Albania.

Latvia's song was indeed good, although Australia presented a fine piece of music and in my oppinion they fully deserve their 5th position. Same goes with Italy and their breathtaking sing.
I hoped for a better position for Slovenia though. Slovenia and Australia were my personal hypothetical "dark horses" of the competition.

Are you not a bit paranoid about Russia? They scored high, because their song was awesome, not because voters were "politically motivated". By that kind of words some people might wade deeper and deeper into nonsense and to a situation, in which everything's good which is from Russia is fake etc.
Let's just not fall into paranoia.

About Sweden... well, congratulations, this song was good and Måns Zelmerlöw's voice was fantastic, although I preferred Russia. I think their song was better, more catchy and well performed.

Too bad that Poland did not score higher, but it was not that bad if you compare our result to Germany or Austria (0 points). Ironically, their songs were not bad (at least I see them as good) and didn't deserve to be on the bottom of the list nor ending with amount of points equal to zero.

k my final ranking:

1. LATVIA
MY STAR <3 (also Latvia )

2. ESTONIA
Estonia is one of the best countries in Eurovision and it.kills.me. that Europe always fails to give them the full credit they deserve. What a beautiful, true-to-heart, complex, emotional, amazingly staged entry this was. ;(

3. BELGIUM
Better than Lorde/perhaps every other indiepop in the universe/too bad VRT will fail to send something this great next year, etc.

4. SERBIA
One of the better things about Eurovision are the gayspirational songs that cater directly into the campier fanbase while also providing earnest, hopeful messages. FINALLY I CAN SAY, YES I'M DIFFERENT AND IT'S OKAY <3

5. ISRAEL
New favo activity during long, lonely evenings: dance this choreography with a wine bottle in one hand and an empty glass in the other as my mind drifts into limbo between jubilation and intoxication.

6. SLOVENIA
My actual favourite song this year . And thank god everything else was great as well: The headphones <3 The Air violin <3 the constant headbobbing which makes it appear she's having an epileptic seizure on stage <3 Their backstage bits were hilarious btw. I wish they had done better, but oh well, Slovenia come from last in the semi to second last in the finale to 14th... slow and steady will win them the race someday

7. RUSSIA - I mean, Polina has to be an actual earth angel to perform a pro-peace anthem in all sincerity, whilst also representing the Russian Federation at the same moment. However not only did she succeed in bringing this Herculean task to a succesful end, she also proved that sometimes, Russia can be the HEROES OF OUR TIME. She probably SHOULD have won, but then again, another Russia hosting trip would be coated in the tart sheen of civil repression and antipathy, so I'd rather let someone else take the crown, kthx

8. GEORGIA
Never before has bad English been this entertaining: "NOT A SHABBY OR A MONEYMAKER" "NOT A SHADOWS.... VIOLATOR " "FIGHTER, OXIMATED!!" "VIOLENCE, SET THE FREE" "WARRIOR - OSCILLATING, I 'M GONNA GET UP AND BE" what does this even mean, i dunno, but it's still stucked in my mind!

9. SWEDEN
I'd rather this hadn't won because Sweden ALWAYS does well regardless of how good or mediocre they are, while countries such as Latvia and Belgium have to strike figurative gold before they even have a snowball's chance in hell to reach the top 10 (case in point of the former: "Undo" and "Popular" making the top 3 - what. the. heck, Europe.).

On the flipside, Sweden ARE Eurovision, whether we like it or not and I'd love to see them break Ireland's record one day. Besides, it is impossible to deny Måns's disarming McDreamyness and his act was a solid 10/10 and if we get another contest hosted by Petra Mede (or who knows... SANNA NIELSEN? ) next year, it will all be worth it.

10. MOLDOVA
From the national final performance (which included a bearded lady), over the rumours of Eduard BUYING the Moldovan vote, over the fact that Moldova LOATHES him, over the video clip being recycled from a previous clip he shot for ANOTHER song, over the lud.a.cris staging and cheapo sexploitation to the fact that Eduard is a untinentionally hilarious loltard from UKRAINE, this was a FUNtastic trainwreck of an entry and I won't hear otherwise.

11. AUSTRIA
I 100% and completely irrationally blame the ORF' bad hosting for Austria's 0 points in the finale. I feel really bad for the MakeMakes because they totally did NOT deserve that zero with that Beatles/Hozier mix of a song (best.combo.ever.), but oh well, that is how the system goes sometimes.

12. GERMANY
This one was ALSO robbed, but less so, imo. The staging on this was as inappropriate as it was comically exploitative. (that one lingering shot of her bottom ). It's Sass girl, not "Ass". She also should have kept her #RetardDance from the preselections though :-/

13. LITHUANIA
How blissfully naïve <3 Also, they fuk'd right?

14. BELARUS
synthpop + random Violin = music to my ears. They REALLY should have kept that giant hourglass/elf ears/treadmill nonsense from their videoclip, however.

15. UNITED KINGDOM
Holy hell how did this get FIVE points??? It was bred in a lab to finish dead last with nil points but the fact that Electro Velvet somehow DEFIED these stacked odds is hilarious and amazing to me.

16. AZERBAIJAN
What a desperate mess of an entry. I love it, actually Shoving his dancers out of the way during the bridge <3

17. SAN MARINO
Third best ESC-related tweet this year: "This is like some kind of Disney Nightmare"

18. ITALY
I still like them, but 3rd place (and winning the televote) off that pimp spot is actually way too high imo. I feel like Italy SHOULD have finished around 7th and agree with the jury. Definitely not ABOVE Belgium, or Russia, for that matter. :-/

19. IRELAND
Poor Molly I actually quite loved this song but it was pretty much lost in the shuffle for me.

20. SWITZERLAND
An entertaining mess.

21. ARMENIA
An entertaining mess.

22. ALBANIA
Lord(e) knows what possessed Albania to send a song that is virtually impossible to sing in tune. However, listen very carefully, ALCIBIADES, Elhaida did her best and performed with such entheusiasm and gusto that I'm willing to forgive her questionable vocals. And yes, she did sing her song better than Debra Scarlett did, dwi.

23. CZECH REPUBLIC
Acceptable, but nothing too exciting i m o.

24. THE NETHERLANDS
The little train that couldn't

25. SPAIN
lol this desperate ho. Ownt SO HARD, Eurosnobs.

26. MALTA
Pride Cometh Before The Fall.

27. PORTUGAL
about:blank

28. ROMANIA
People here seem to care about Voltaj. I don't. Ugly AND boring old men, no thank you.

29. MONTENEGRO
Second best ESC-related tweet this year "This man looks like an amateur magician who remarks on how much his nieces have grown whilst doing a boob mime"

30. AUSTRALIA
This one became really annoying once the novelty hype had worn off and when I saw Guy prancing around in his FEDORA I immediately got Bruno Mars vibes () and it destroyed my appreciation for the song forever. Also, points docked for snubbing Latvia out off a deserved top 5 :-/

31. FRANCE
Boring sentimental tripe. The backdrop looked cool for like 10 seconds but it's not nearly enough to make it interesting and i'm glad Europe agreed.

32. POLAND
I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR HER  but she sucked, oops oh well.

33. FINLAND
I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR THEM  but they sucked, oops oh well.

34. DENMARK
INCREDIBLY IRRITATING once that decent first minute passes, also WHY are your lyrics written in text message when your name is anti-social media???

35. GREECE
boringly offensive "Rise Like a Phoenix" rip-off. This thing could NEVER do anything different than serve as an impromptu toilet break during the live show. I mean, Greece and Cyprus were SO BAD this year that they didn't even give each other 12 points.

36. FORMERYUGOSLAVREPUBLICOFMACEDONIA - A lame song, with a lame choreography and BAD live vocals... yeah, this was pretty awful.

37. CYPRUS - Best ESC-related comment of this year: "This is the sound of a thousand fedoras being thrown into the friendzone"

38. NORWAY - The greatest trick the devil played was convincing the world he didn't exist. I have no idea how Norway tricked Europe into believing that "A Monster Like Me" (ps: it's A Monster ~Such As I~)  was quality or even complex when it's riddled with plotholes (like... don't start a narrative if you don't plan on finishing it) and ill-singing carrots in folded napkins.

39. ICELAND
OFFENSIVELY basic. Why did people even LIKE this awful, repetitive song to begin with? Iceland's been riding on the high of Yohanna's coattails ever since 2009 now, it's time for them to reinvent themselves and send actual quality for a change :-/

40. HUNGARY
YES, WE GET IT, WAR IS BAD, STOP *PATRONIZING* ME, YOU CONDESCENDING LEFTIST KNOW-IT-ALL. Jebaschristalmighty. People who drive the neckbearded loserpigs at Reddit into using "Social Justice Warrior" as an INSULT against Conchita Wurst and Ruslana have no place on an international platform such as Eurovision and neither does *BOGUS*.

Well said and an interesting read, Lexxan! Though I beg to differ on some points like Cyprus, Norway and Latvia.

Just because this is HEROES COMMUNITY I’ll celebrate the Swedish victory by presenting my thoughts about the entries in the FACTION FORMAT. Here we go!

Champion

Sverige

I would have voted for Måns if he had been representing another country. As I said before: “an enjoyable example of modern house pop, performed with voice and charisma, in a state of the art staging.”

Elite

Russia, Italy and Australia

Just like Måns Zelmerlöw these artists’ voices, charisma and music were impressive and it’s just right that they all entered top 5. Songs about Peace on Earth and Grande Amore are nevertheless rather cliché, so the vote had to go to Australia this year.

Core

Estonia, Austria and Cyprus

Rock, country and singer-songwriter influenced music is what I usually listen to the rest of year, and these songs are all really nice.

In the faction but no dwelling in town

Belgium, Norway

Loïc Nottet did a cool performance and sings his song very well, but rappappapp is too abstract tonight. The Monsters had the best traditional drama love ballad this year, second to Austria.

Allies

Romania, Montenegro and Hungary

Nice melodies

Neutrals

Everybody who is

a) a traditional Eurovision entry we have heard a million times with nothing special be it ballad-ish or up-tempo or both,
b) Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät who despite having a horrible song impressed me by participating despite their difficulties.

Examples from the final: Poland, Israel, Serbia, Azerbaijan…
There were some earlier in the week too: Denmark, Ireland, Portugal…

ENEMIES

Entries that managed to get to the final but cannot be allowed to win.

Slovenia, Georgia, Spain, Latvia

The first two are obvious – their ways of singing do not sound good.

The Spanish entry was written by Thomas G:son who wrote Euphoria, and it's a rather bad copy of earlier work with wow factor, it's lacking the mystery it tries to be.

Latvian Aminata is technically skilled but it’s also a prime example of when going abstract and arty becomes so important that it ruins something that could have been good. Belgium is in the risk zone too but manages to remain catchy, and that makes them rather good instead.

Heh, so it's my turn for a list of favourite song from the whole contest (from the best to the worst, in my oppinion):

1. Russia
2. Slovenia
3. Australia
4. Belarus
5. Italy
6. Israel
7. Montenegro
8. Serbia
9. Spain
10. Ireland
(number #1 and #2 are close)

That would go like this if I were to judge all songs and once again analyse their advantages and disadvantages. It's top10, but slightly below last number there would go songs from Sweden, Finland and France. Number #1 and #2 are close.

You discussed about Latvia's pick, so I'm gonna comment on it too. For me it was original and artistic, but it was rather average/good in overall score. It was not a song for a festival like this and it didn't show singer's full power, while her voice was pretty amazing.
For me, Latvia's place was too high, although some fresh air that went along with that original song was quite a nice surprise.

Having the whole thing a couple of days away, I'll give my judgement of the 10 most memorable songs from this years performance:

#10: BELGIUM - A good song, great performance, great show. I put this bottom of my list because it's also a bit annoying and not something I'll really take out and listen to.
#9: ESTONIA - Great song, the underperformed in the final.
#8: UNITED KINGDOM - This was a great, fun song, they performed well, and the show was good. I'm baffled why this got completely trashed, but it seems everybody have just decided to ignore UK.
#7: SWEDEN - Fantastic stage show, good performance, average song. Quite generic radio-pop, far from the best song in the show.
#6: LATVIA - Great stage show, great performance, very good song.
#5: RUSSIA - Fantastic performance, very good song if quite generic Euro-vision pop.
#4: AUSTRALIA - Fantastic performance, great song, very contemporary sound. This could and should be a radio hit.
#3: SLOVENIA - Great song, great performance, possibly the most memorably voice. Great gimmick with the headphones.
#2: SERBIA - As gay anthems go, it doesn't get much bigger than this. And just an all-round great song.
#1: NORWAY - Fantastic song, fantastic performance, beautiful staging. For me the best song in the show, and two of the most memorable vocals as well. This is definitely a song I'll be listening to for a long time.

There are many Russians in Lithuania, so maybe that's the reason some people were confused about Lithuania's voting. Come on, all people know that many people vote for a country not because the song's good, but because it's their homeland or they like a major nation living there. But if the song's not good, then that kind of "tactic" of voters won't help likely.

About calling you "culprits" on one TV station, what are you mad about? They almost one the competition and were sad because of it and searched the reasons of their fail. In Lithuania there is a lot of Russians who could vote for Russia's pick. Yet they did not, that's why the TV station you told about might be upset. Although I'm not the one to judge this - I did not see any material and you even didn't say which station it was (official Russian broadcaster of Eurovision or a different one?).

You Lithuanians seem to hate Russians and Poles, so chill out, friend. As my friend told me some days ago, they were satisfied with results (but would like to win - who wouldn't?!), competition itself and with the fact it was not politicized (I'm also glad there wasn't a situation like in Eurovision 2014, when the audience suddenly hummed when a Russian presenter presented information about how Russians voted; it was in that moment as I remember).
Oh, and my friend I was talking about is from Russia.

Songs that are above average ones can win the whole contest or end up with a good score, that's all.

None taken. the conservatniks(a mashup between a conservative and vatnik) are like this. our dead dasha polipovna grybovskaja is the worst offender.

but it seems the former KGB twats and snitches can't make up their minds. one day, the russians are invading. the next day they're not.
