Superbook!

English summary: Evolution of speech and hearing
Actual spoken language of man developed only approximately 200 000 to 100 000 years ago. As a result of natural selection, man has developed hearing, which is most sensitive in the frequency regions of 200 to 4 000 Hz, corresponding to those of spoken sounds. Functional hearing has been one of the prerequisites for the development of speech, although according to current opinion the language itself may have evolved by mimicking gestures with the so-called mirror neurons. Due to hearing, gesticulation was no longer necessary, and the hands became available for other purposes.

I can post this in the Christian thread and you can answer there.

Drakon-Deus said:
In other words, yes, belief matters more.

That's the whole point. You can try to be a "good person" but without faith it is impossible to please God.

Keep in mind I am talking only about the Bible here.

BUT, if you believe and your deeds are those of a rapist, serial killer etc, you will not be saved.

Faith and good works go hand in hand.

Which means most people in the world are doomed for eternity simply due to the culture they are born into, no fault of their own.

"Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins"
- Repent, regret and faith is enough to be  forgiven due to Jesus' sacrifice according to your Bible. The only unforgiveable sin is blasphemy.

Faith and good works go hand in hand how?  I would prefer example or argument rather than statement.

If you have faith but you have no works your faith is dead. If someone needs your help like he or she is poor or sick and you turn your back then your faith is dead.

No one is doomed NOW. Everyone will hear the gospel and have a chance to obey after resurrection.

If you really think I don't make sense then our talk stops here.

So I say I don't understand how your reply is answering anything I brought up, and instead of rephrasing or elaborating you decide to simply not discuss what I consider hypocrisy within the religion?

See, this is why Christians don't argue atheists (well) in public debates - once they have to explain their beliefs when they are questioned it all falls apart. Much easier when it can be indoctrinated from birth then repeated in the echochamber of church every Sunday, instead of facing up to the scrutiny of non-believers.

Too bad you have such an unwillingness to discuss those of a different opinion, then decide to shut down instead.

Ciao.

And that is why I dislike atheism and the arrogance that comes with it.

I am not obligated to discuss with you when you insult my views.

Adios.

No arrogance, simply a critical mind that has nothing to do with my lack of religious belief. I simply question everything, if something does not make sense I seek answers and/or understanding. But most people are unwilling to actually debate concerning something they believe strongly in, especially if confronted with arguments they might not have an actual answer to.

I have met far more rational and less arrogant atheists than religious people.

Obligated, no. Disagreeing and confronting is not the same as insulting. I confront everyone when they are vocal about a belief or a view I do not share. But as I said, most people don't actually want to defend a belief, they simply want to believe without being critical.

I said that one post didn't make sense, seeing as it did not answer anything I had asked or written in the post prior to it.

Religious beliefs are perhaps irrational to atheists. Reminds me of Zenofex who told me that I need to show evidence that the Bible is inspired. Like physical evidence.

My post was clear. I have nothing more to say to you about Christianity.

What do you mean by "inspired"?

That is just stupid, most historical knowledge we have is circumstancial and/or conjecture. To expect any kind of evidence concerning the the motivation behind writing most books from that era is just silly. It would be like expecting physical evidence the Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is actually written by him and not simply had his name added to it posthumous.

What I do is attempting a critical philosophical debate concerning the subject, asking questions that should be asked and to actually believe with a clear conscience, should be answered.

Might be clear to you, since you wrote it. That does not mean others are obligated to get what you try to convey. If someone don't understand me, I try to formulate the message differently, Word it differently. People don't necessarily communicate the same way.

You cannot refute the point by pointing out that NOW people can get informed. For a very long time that simply wasn't possible.
In the time this comes from it wasn't.
