Holy snow, necro.
I'm assuming if the hydra goes in the warlock faction, it's because there's no swamp faction? If there's a swamp faction, it gets the mythological creatures associated with wetlands - hydras, dragonflies, salamanders, lizardpeople, trolls.

The irony is that, for all five games it was in, the Hydra was in the Warlock faction, either above ground in Heroes 1, 2 and 4, or below ground in Heroes 3 and 5.

Umm, in Heroes 3 it was in the Swamp faction, Fortress. Dungeon is the Warlock faction.

Ah, my bad. Still four out of five games have seen the Hydra with the Warlocks, and twice they've been together in swamp (as near as I can tell, they were in swamp in H2 and H4), so the title still doesn't make sense.
