NimoStar said: Other things that makes luck worse and morale more revelant:
- Morale triggers on actions like moving and spellcasting (not sure if triggers on setting defense mode, I think not). Luck only on attack. This makes morale (and bad morale) trigger more than luck even counting "retaliations".
- Bad morale triggers at start of every turn and completely
One small bonus of luck:
- With luck attacks enemy will only retaliate after the "double damage", while in Morale double attacks they may retaliate after first time with pseudo-half that damage done... if they were retaliating. In truth a wise commander will attack enemies that can't relatiate with their important stacks (like attacking with multiple units to the same creature) so this point tends to not apply to experienced players.
It is actually emphasising morale! You see it shows how luck can be useless as in game many times it overkills so in actuality has no effect. Morale I can use to kill another thing

I would never pick Luck voluntarily. However, although Leadership is better in many ways, I would avoid it, too.
It's not a matter of calculating numbers, the reason is Spirit of Oppression.
I used to even suggest buffs for Leadership, but nowadays I tend to think it should be included in the build for main heroes, given that it should probably be built among the last available slots if possible. It's just very effiecient in the late game in mind. It's likely in the players intrests to stack creatures from different towns, so having a consistant solution for the morale dropping issue is very handy. Whereas obtaining +1 morale isn't difficult, it's the consistant +2/+3 morale boost the game is kinda lacking. Yes, obviously there's the +3 morale/+3 luck artifact, but that may very well not even be obtainable in the map. And even if it would exists, you can still go for maxium morale reduction for multiple different troops and enjoy maxium morale anyway.
I also Leadership suggest for secondary heroes doing the dirty work for the main hero. The chance for possible morale boost is very convinient, but fighting under bad morale can be much more costly for the secondary heroes, since they're likely lacking the stats/spells/skills/such to overcome such situations. In those type of situtions, the Leaderhips can work as a life insurance, especially since those heroes are unlikely to max skills anyway.

If buffs Leadership, so you also buff Sorrow.. The Spirit of Oppression plus Sorrow or artifacts in HotA.. HoMM4's Leadership plus/with Luck is 5 by GM, but Mirth or Mass Fervor is 10.. Ok H4 hasn't the Spirit of Oppression, and any negative morale artifact.. Rakso: why not both? Right, Luck needs Leadership.. And H4 realized well.. H3 Leadership I don't care.. Even if Leadership goes to Castle and Inferno, and then I'm seeking for a Luck.. Necropolis, Conflux for Luck, so I need negative morale artifact.. But HotA
