Promotions, events etc.
Well I was thinking about Homm4 and I found some things of my own I would like to see improved or new.
Some of these things are: Promotions for heroes, different events, town opptions and certain things brought back from older versions.
Well a promotion for a hero would improve his skills overall, maybee get a better pay(Launcelots idea), make opponents respect him like fear and also give him different secondary skills.Lets take an example if your hero has a scout status he would automaticaly get scouting. Once he would get a better status you could choose this delete this skill. Or lets say he was a Feild general. He would get leadership and so on.
Different events would mean like more weather dealing things like seasons and dissarsters and so on.
Town options would be better like more stuff for your town,not dvelings, I mean like improved market, better and different blacksmith and if your city would excel a certain size an university or school of magic.
Finally I would like to see ghosts apear and some different buildings on the map too.
Tell me what you think.

Disasters
Well there could be blizzards, huricanes, well tornados and also wild fires in forest and land slides in the mountains.

Heroes 3 will have heroes promotions. We should be finding out about the rest of the game very shortly...next week or so hopefully.

Are you sure Pluvious? I mean i wouldn't want to get screwed or something. Also i think you ment Heroes 4 not 3.

It is fine to get those promotions for heroes, but deleting the skills is rather unlogical. With the better status hero wont forget to scout or command a army ( or use a spell, and so on... ).

The Month of Tarrasque ( event )
It is the meanest creature in ADD. It gets up once in a year and is looking for food or else. Anything in it`s way - well, goodbye towns, heroes, wandering creatures.

Wow!
Your ideas are great.
I think when a castle gets hit by a hazard it should lose some of it's buildings or lose villagers so money cannot be regenerated, buildings cannot be built, and not as many men can be recruited.
I also think if a hero gets hit by a hazard the hero could lose troops, artifacts, skills {from head injury? (haha)}, or even die
And lastly I think if mines or dwelling get hit by a hazard, they cannot be operational for 1 day - 1 month (or something)
I love your ideas and think you are on the right track to add hazards that can make the game longer, harder, and more realistic.

Yes I have more ideas. Yep, I am person who pulls towards a town population. Well if you buy a city hall the nuber of villagers increases. This means that if you are succesfull and your city grows you can get better buildings like an arena or univesity. Another idea of mine is that there could be a bribe option. Yuo could bribe a hero to join your side(This works well if you are up against a thought hero :-)) But the greater the status of a hero is the ore does his bribe cost.

Some good ideas.
I like hero promotion and events idea.
For town option, I also have some similar ideas (I've posted in some threads but forget where. )
Maybe towns should be classified into military towns, economic towns, magic towns etc.....
For bribe of heroes, would it turn the game into "war of economy" ? (just more like the real world )

Sorry Thuderknight if I took some of your ideas. I mean the bribe could be available but lets see if you are about to battle a feild general or lv20 hero with a huge army it will cost you ehmm... like 25000-40000 gold or you could just pay in the equvilanet of ressources.

Bribe...
Well the bribe can be useful when you have your hero that can't be killed like in a campaing and he has almost no army and you face a strong hero. At that time it is usefull. Still it may transform the game, but in certain sittuations it may work.

i dont like the idea much but if you want the idea bribe id suggest that it only lasts a week before he either changes sides back or does a runner with the money

Yes.
Well... yeah we could do that it would depend on the amount. When u would offer an irizistible offer then he could join right away otherwise a week would do.
Also I think this game need ENHANCED DIPLOMACI. You could offer an alliance to a player in the game or even the computer. Then you could cancel one, declare war make peace or sign a cease fire. The cpu or player would like you more or less according to your actions. If u were at war against somebody that they would be at the same time they would like you more. Then when you are at war against them they would like you less. Human players could choose their stance anyway they want to.

Now I begin to see a light in the bribe idea. After what Archanid suggested and a little of Sir Duncos improvments i think that you now may have something going there. It becomes more of an option then a cheat. ... it could work now ,but... yeah it would work.

I have an idea for advanced players and disasters. Maybe we could have some kind of monster that can controll them. We wouldnt be able to use this monster but only defeat it to make our maps easier. He can use Blizzards to block paths to victory and other things like reasources. This would work well with Campaigns because there is a set path for victory. Also this creature will be able to move everyday just like hereos so it will be hard to get rid of. This is for advanced players only. tell me what you think

A god?
Black Dragon do you mean a god or someting? Like a god for each element that would control the weather? If you please the god he would grant good weathrer if not then a dissaster from that element would come soon. You would give him gifts to please him. That would be cool.

yeah Sir Dunco it would sort of fall in to both of your ideas. Like If you dont respect the gods they will deystroy things that help you or something like that.

Gods
As was said in an older post(Should gods exists in Homm4) there was a discussion about that topic. Well the Gods could exist in different forms. Like Town protectors to whom you could build shrines and other things. Those could exist and these different gods would control the elements. I think that it could work out.
