Mapmaster Poll: Which TEMPLATE map will be the next
Only a few players are left standing in the currently running 2 templates in mapmasters so its time to see which will be the next ones.

RING!!
I voted Ring coz then a more balanced Ring template will be made
I always liked ring, but BIG blockers were sorely missing, I would luv to have a modified Ring temp in the inventory!!
btw Maxi...I have only seen Pheonix temp once. It was a 3ffa, not once on 1o1 games.

could be man. i only ever played it twice, and both times it's been a 2o2 game!
maybe it could be change 2 if it is not avalible for 1o1 games ?
was only realy saying it was a cool template.

My suggestion would go to any of midnights maps.. Panic is a very interesting map indeed and I'll vote for that.
Midnights maps are very playable.. sliding a little to the hard end of gaming.. but very balanced and the best part, you can play L without underworld and still have a decent lengthed game.

Panic is a real good choice for a tournament template
Not as many unbalanced factors as many other randoms has, and beside, hard and very tactical...

Ya Destro, Panic was fun...even if it was alittle to rich for my taste. But the best template is the one me is working on, so far ive only commen to the name part tho but it will be great =D

I don't know about 8XM8,
Maybe you guys forget about that map.. but it can be restart after restart after restart..
Vs a player who is not.. well very good.. you can find that they are blocked every load.
This map often times has an area for start about 10hexes total, with ore, wood, and nothing else, except an exit guarding by hordes of magogs or something along those lines.. PLaying on even 130% can be a very difficult. Not to mention that balance wise.. you can't even compete on that map without a strong might hero who can kill hive after hive after hive..
I think its dangerous to use a template which can potentially be WAY too hard for some gamers who might be in the tournament.
Also games can often run weel into late month2 on that template in XL/under setting which is imo the only playable size for it.

8xm8 is one of the better 3do maps. the only problem with it from a strategic point of view, is there is only 1 strategy required to win every single game, collect the most wyvern. This is how it works:
* initially conserve gold by only getting 2 or 3 heroes
* build an army big enuf to take out a hive and put on best might hero
* take out first hive
* take out 2nd hive
* take out 3rd hive
* take out 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th...... hive
* take some relics and utopias
* get exp earth and antimagic
* go into battle and antimagic the wyvern
* kill all the other stacks with the wyvern
then yawn cuz it is always the same

Is the template i draw most the most lately. You will find lots of resources at start so quite anybody will have the illusion of rocking the boat at start But the fact is the vets out there will crush you out week 3 or 4 at worst... so be prepare to die and have fun
