Game length - min, max and avg in hours
1.1Mbs connection for me playing broadband users:
Minimum for me was around two hours on some of the rush maps in the early days. I was the one getting rushed and crushed....
Maximum so far is playing superheroes. That map tends to run in excess of eight hours pretty easy. Zud and I both passed out not finishing the game after 14 hours one weekend.
Average play time is probably six hours on maps like showdown. I think in my H3 days my average game was more like 3-4 hours.
I wonder if it is possible to design fun and challenging maps that run closer to four hours of play time....

I agree with Valk. Unless both players have High speed and transfers are like 10 secs there is no way any map/game can be fun if it always ends at 4 hours.

my avarage is about 3 hours
superheroes I ve finished in 2 hours
if your oponent is somethere near .its fast connection even with slow modems

tc : we were talking about playing a game, not rushing with 1 level 4, like your style, it's not starcraft here ...

hmm well it will depend..
For me homm4 is often times shorter than homm3.. however. in homm3 I prefer L/U and XL maps.. in h4 that map would take potentially 30+ hours in multiplayer I would think.
Interestingly enough I enjoy Medium maps, and Large maps just as much in h4 as I did XL in h3.. and time wise its about equal.
But in terms of gaming time.. I find it to be about the same. My games span 4-6 hours depending on transfers and map complexity.
I don't notice a huge difference..
