Quote: Also, I don't know if this was mentioned by someone but I can definitely hear a remixed Dungeon theme from H3, on the adventure map. A nice remix I must say
On the first map with Raelag on the surface, I could clearly hear that they made a remix of the Rampart town music from Heroes 3 - and I can say that I actually liked it .

Well that's nothing new. If you search the news thread you will see links to the Rampart and Inferno H3 remixes (called Elven Forest and Chaos adventure map themes respectively), so they were know before SoD release, whereas there was no information about a Dungeon remix, that's why I asked. Or maybe I missed it...

Now I want to hear that Rampart remix when I still can't find the game anywhere. Seriously Ubisoft, what did Canada ever do to you?

Sounds good enough (still doesn't beat the original).

Cerberus have different "splash" dmg like now. For example if u put unit in corner (lets call him corner_unit) and a large unit diagonally next to the first unit in the same corner and then put 2 units next to corner_unit so that dogs can't reach them , only corner_unit is safe. Cerberus attack the large unit and one of the other too with one splash dmg attack. I think it wasn't like that before.
Also "Asha uses all" gives 6 mana instead of 3.

"Unfortunately, this difficulty is more than a bit unfair, hitting you with too many surprises that force you to replay battles and huge sections of maps on a regular basis."
3rd of Raelags campaign in which Nagas cross the water to hit you from behind... this is the only map that gave me some challenge on Hard (had to go back a few turns to counter an enemy attack once) and reminded me of Heroes 4 infamous teleporter-near-your-capital maps. Avatar of the Void boss battle is also quite challenging. I agree SoD is a bit harder then vanilla, but nothing a Heroes vet can handle Also those time-restricted maps gave you enough turns to finish the objective easily imo. But I'm a veteran of Heroes games so I could have had a different experience... this is nothing compared to fighting Necromancers in Heroes 3
PS: Loosing saves with black screen is something new for me :/

Giving a game a bad mark based on the fact that it's to hard is the biggest laugh-out I have ever seen in a review. Kids these days.....
Being hard is a plus point....

Heroes 6 campaigns have been the only campaigns in a heroes game that were easy enough for me to bother playing through without cheats...

IDK if H6-SoD is hard or not, I did not play it yet, but that is a general truth.

I also didn't play SoD campaigns, I want to finish vanilla campaigns again then continue with expansion . But I know what you mean, today games in general are made too easy with many fancy tutorials. I remember playing Armageddon's Blade for the first time, and it was hard for me back then but that was one of the reasons why I liked it.

Being hard is good, being "too" hard isn't. There have been many old games that were just too hard and thus not fun at all unless you like banging your head against a wall repeatedly.
That said ... saying that SoD was hard is indeed laughable. The only real hard part I've had is the fight against the Avatar of Void and yet, it was the biggest blast I've had in this game since its release

Speaking of finishing the campaign... and what to do after it...
I like it how there are no "new" custom maps in SoD. The only "new" ones are those ripped from the campaigns (which I find outrageous). I understand that there will be no RMG (hard to imagine how it would be possible on such a bugged game code), but they should've added at least some new and simple custom maps like H3 style's Elbow Room. Really, was it so hard for a couple of devs to at least make some 3-4 new custom single-player maps? And they had those additional two months...

Yeah, that's simply disgusting
Hopefully this will assure to Ubisoft the importance of either a RMG or a nice and not-hard-to-use map editor...

Hey ppl! So the xpack is out.. It's looking nice imo, but idk if i'll get it right now, cos I'm with very little time for playing.
But.. anyone know if there is any news, possibilities or rumors of a new xpack? =S or they'll stop here?
How the devs are feeling after the release? Are they happy? lol
I know, a lot of ppl would like to jump to H7, but well.. H6 is what we have right now.. anyone know if the devs are planning to keep working on the game or that's it?

Well, judging by the hype and popularity on various online shops (top 10 sales lists etc), at least in my country the sales were good. But don't know if it was enough to satisfy Ubi...
Tell you what: wait at least until E3, because there could be some announcements there, either a next expansion or Heroes 7

I don't mind games being hard.
ONLY if they're fair in their difficulty.
Good examples include Super Meat Boy and Dark Souls (to some extent at least).
But from what I'm hearing, SoD is unfairly hard at times...

If it's hard like "you can't win battle X, Y, Z with template tactics, you have to be a bit more creative", then such criticism is more than unjustified (unless you think a game should be adapted to its dumbest audience). If it's hard like "you have to run around like a salesman with a torch in his ass to catch all the gazillion heroes which some script spawns everywhere around your capital", then the criticism is more than justified - not because it's hard but because it's tedious as hell.
