i have a stupid question but it bothers the hell out of me so i have to ask xP
after i installed vcmi for the new towns and all i lost all the icons ingame when i right click on creatures/towns/etc
i looked everywhere for the solution with no results so i had to ask
thanks in advance and sry if its spam

You should not update "vcmi essential files" in launcher, it causes some stuff to disappear. I suggest reinstalling vcmi to fix the problem.
PS. Use newest daily build instead of 0.99 - they are much better. Simply click on the top one in the list to get installer: https://builds.vcmi.download/branch/develop/Windows/
PS2. Easiest way to make VCMI working: Install daily build package in new directory, and copy "data" "maps" and "mp3" folders that come from original H3 inside installed VCMI directory, so "data" "maps" and "mp3" land near "config", "mods", "ai" and other VCMI folders.
PS3. If some non-programmer wants to help VCMI grow, there are 3 areas where we would enjoy help the most:
1. In-game testing
2. If you are artist we could benefit from some 2d art stuff
3. Good english writing - some wiki stuff etc.
To "apply" - please write a private message here on HC or join our forums/slack and inform us there.

New Unit- Cherub!
Its a super-fast Archangel with a little more defense and hp and with high morale.
Dwelling: Altar of Prophecies
New unit - Cherub. The cherubim are the second highest rank in the angelic hierarchy, following the Seraphim. Cherubim are regarded in traditional angelology as angels of the second highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy.
The screenshot has older version of Cherub, his shadow was too transparent, now its fixed.

Maybe. Remaking hota features was never a priority for vcmi team, there are more important things to do or finish first.

However, it's a complex task. New battlefields may or may not be linked to new terrains and new obstacles. It must be all backward-compatible and each individual item must be optional. Also, don't forget RMG templates and objects ![](images/icons/icon27.gif)

Looking at HOTA 1.5 and their new terrain, VCMI must also allow modding of terrains (adding new ones).

Say "hi" to most recent and pretty usable alpha version of VCMI map editor (download link in video description):

You can make new maps, open/edit SoD maps and play them in VCMI.
To report problems/bugs regarding editor please visit our bugtracker and fill bug form with "Map Editor" category. Please attach VCMI_Editor.log file, by default it is created in documents/my games/VCMI folder on Windows system. Also if applicable, attach map created with editor if problem is related to particular map.
Thanks to Drwal from Acidcave for making installation videotutorial.
