Heroes 3 new mod

Greetings!

I have some question and i would like to get some help, if you can.
Me and some of my mate are making a new Heroes 3 mod, where we change everything what we can.  (heroes, monsters, etc...)

3 Question we got, where we can't find solution.

1. Where we can set up the starter heroes? (not in the game, in h3 sprite.lod or some kind of file)

2. Where we can find that line, where we can set up the chars hex lenght? (1 or 2 hex)

3. The upgrade of the basic units. (like gremlin to master gremlin)

I hope, you can help.

1.Try to look on h3.sprite.lod using ResEdit, maybe extracting the files of the units/ heroes you want to edit, and edit it using the Windows Bitmap Editor, or any editor of images/ pictures you can.

2.I don't know the answer to this, ask someone more experienced

3.Simple. If you want to edit it, look at h3.sprite too, and if you want to place it into a map for example, use heroes 3 mapped.

Oh, and this topic is considered as flood, because you made another one with the same subject. This is instant ban (Just warning you).
If you want, you could ask  a moderator like Angelito to remove it, or edit it, so the subject shall be different.

@T-Rex: You are in the wrong sub-forum, friend. Try here, it contains various threads and tutorials which are going to help you.

In pure SoD you can only modify parameters via text files(i.e stats), graphics and sounds, for more advanced things you are going to need Era/VCMI (or just simple WoG, but it's better to use ERA) if you want to change it simple and safe without any hex editing and reverse engineering.

1.Heroes portraits are in h3bitmap.lod, be aware that there are 2 portraits (big and small). Heroes animations are in h3sprite.def (both from combat and adventure map). Heroes' class names are in HCTRAITS.txt , as well as starting primary skills for each class and the chances (%) of obtaining a certain primary skill when leveling up (i.e: attack, defense, spellpower, knowledge). HOTRAITS.txt contains heroes names and starting creatures(you can only modify their numbers, not the type of creatures via this .txt file) Herobios.txt contains heroes biographies. Herospec.txt contains heroes specialties (description only). For modifying heroes specialties and starting secondary skills you need to use the !!HE receiver in ERM (you can't do that in pure SoD without hex editing)

2. Use  X#/1; where # is the creature's ID (doesn't work in pure SoD)

3. To change an upgrade use this !!UN:TX/Y/1/Z;, where X is town's ID, Y is creature's tier and Z is creature's ID. If you want to change the basic creature just replace the 1 with 0 (doesn't work in pure SoD)
