@Ehlesgens-Art: That’s good to hear. Thanks!
Judging from the lighting in the town portrait, from the colour of what will probably be its native terrain and from the shape of the terrain’s mountains, I would guess that the new town in the upper-left corner is going to be an underground town which would be nice since there is only one until now.

I'm very curious about the shrine near the mushroom town. Tier 5 spell shrine?
Or maybe it grants temporary fly/ temporary spells? That'd be cool.
Also don't think I didn't see that little salamander near it. It's going to be squirrels again all over.

Congratulations to the team for making it this far. Awesome update and filled with some nice callbacks to previous updates (some of which have likely changed). I think all of the Vori units have now been shown on the adventure map.
#1 looks like it has a mystery dwelling
#2 looks like it has a mystery unit (hints at another)
The last update seems to show two mystery units and a dwelling. The mushroom unit was hinted at in #2 and the other one closely matches the aesthetic from the unit shared in #2 (Alternative?). The dwelling is likely home to the Spider unit from the promotional video.
Plenty of other interesting tidbits -- unique chests, shrines, gem artifacts, etc.

If by "official" you mean one with the involvement and approval of the DoR team, then no. We can't speak for other individuals' or groups' attempts, though

Porting VCMI over to DoR would require a lot of people's permission .

First time poster here. I registered because I really felt the need to express how thankful I am. I have been following this project for a long time now and this is truly what I always wished for. The new towns, The units, just the direction on everything I really love. It truly feels like the natural progression of HoMM3. The Palace looks amazing, I really love the units revealed for it so far. You guys are also making the Forge just like how it was meant to be originally. I was always so heartbroken on the Forge, finally someone is bringing back the original Forge. I can't even begin to say how much that means to me. Alternate Units is really great and has so much potential. I can really see how it could fix some issues with some towns like Conflux and Inferno. Yet all this is still just the tip of the iceberg. Truly I just want to say thank you so much for making DoR! I don't even know how many years I have been waiting for something like this.
I have a few question if that is okay. I understand if some of it is still top secret info but a few bits got me kind of curious.
1) This is probably very silly and obvious but since every faction will have alternate units, does that mean Forge will have alternatives too or will that one be special and fully stick to it's original design?
2) How does alternate units affect the starting armies of heroes? Will we get new heroes who use them or will some of the already existing heroes be changed?
3) What is the general difficulty level planned for the campaign? I personally hope it will be something close to the official campaigns.

You're very welcome, @GroovyFox! I am glad that's the way you feel, and I hope to evoke such feelings in many more players.
I too felt heartbroken, when I found out the story of the Forge's scrapping. Ahhhh.... I still remember the day when I first discovered the faction, and how it amazed me (for some context, I got accustomed to H3 only in the past 10 years). I really loved, and still do love, the Forge. In fact, it's actually the main reason I ended up in DoR, years ago. Really funny and nice story, I hope I'll be able to tell it someday.
Indeed, that's one reason for their inclusion, among others. We want to be relatively conservative with them, and answer a gameplay and thematic need with each. And speaking of Inferno, there is one alternate in it which is meant to make playing the faction easier for casuals. In the hands of more experienced players, however, it might not necessarily be the case.
1) The Forge will receive virtually the same treatment as every other faction, except that it will be optional content (on/off in-game). Of course, the alternate dwellings can be disabled, just as it is with any other buildings.
Regarding its alternates, each one of them explores a trope that was not part of the original lineup, but is missing from the town. In fact, there are plans to develop their story as well, though not necessarily as part of the main release campaign. More on that another time, but I for one am very eager to explore a non-legacy (aka in the canon timeline) story that is related to that.
2) When picking starting town, hero etc., there is a little seamless menu which allows you to pick your "starting alternate". In other words, it allows you to pick the creatures with which your heroes always start, as well as with which your town starts, if their dwelling is pre-built. It depends on the map, of course - say, if a map specifically has Nisse pre-built, rather than level 1 dwelling, then you get Nisse. It is not the case with RMG maps, however.
3) Generally, we stick to the difficulty level of the official campaigns, concerning difficulties lower than Impossible (King - the highest). As far as the very highest difficulty is concerned, we would like the maps to be quite challenging, so veterans and PvPers would find enjoyment in the gameplay of the campaign, but that remains to be seen.
