Professional ghost hunters weigh in on the best ways to keep your sixth sense in tune the best place to meet the dead and what you should do if something creepy happens to you home. Have fun hunting!

Hunt on the ghost's time

Nighttime is good for ghost because the absence of noisy people and other distractions of the day helps your sixth sense to stay attuned to your surroundings. But any time could be beneficial, depending on the person who is creeping. For instance, the elderly woman who is haunting my home knocks on the doors throughout the day but remains still at night, unless she's unhappy about something such as running the vacuum too late.

Use a trigger object

Know your background of the location and of the haunting , then bring something that the spirit could relate to. If it's a child for instance, bring a toy or if you're at a bank where there was a big heist bring money from the era of the heist. Discuss it. Ask questions. You may even get enough energy from your spirit to propel it.

Be a child

Adults wander through the streets with blinders on. There's so much on our minds. Children are open to anything. Wide open. They can see things earlier than we do. If you go to a historical (and therefore possibly haunted) area, they are captivated and prepared to do any kind of thing. Believe the ghosts sense that you're sincere; that you're eager to meet them. Document evidence

Digital recorders are a really good basic tool. Cheaper ones are great because they produce white noise, which spirits talk within. EVPs (Electronic Vocal Phenomena) can be classified into Class A, Class B, or Class C. Class A is so clear that you can clearly hear the words. The last time we visited, we asked questions and then playing back some EVPs and the spirits spoke our full names in clear voices, and were responding to our inquiries.

Engage all the senses

You feel a presence your hair is dangling, you sense the sounds or feel a slight touch but then you turn around and no one is there. There's smellslike old perfume roses, earth and body odor. They may be angered. There is no way to know if everyone is pure and sweet. But for the most part they are not demons. They are just people similar to us.

Understand the risks

You are not hunting stones. You're not looking for seashells. Provoking is very serious.

You will be able to get in touch with the witness if you've built trust with them. You should request that they contact you whenever something else occurs, and make sure that they keep a record of it. You can always go back to the original investigation and modify your strategies for maximum efficiency if something goes wrong.
