Overwatch is still one of the most played competitive games out there, even after nearly five years of being on the market. While many people are watching the progress of Overwatch 2, it's become clear that we won't be getting our hands on it this year. TIER 1
WRECKING BALL
The Wrecking Ball has been incredibly strong over the past few months. While a lot of main tanks are struggling at the moment, Overwatch seems to have learned how to be dominant with the mouse. He is the main protagonist of the current meta. ZARYA
Zarya is currently the off-tank of choice in top-level play. Wrecking ball is a powerful partner in her work. Similar to the Winston/Zarya team in the past, she has the ability to bubble the hamster as she goes in to give him an extra charge, while also shielding the advance from any crowd control.
TRACER
If Tracer is in the top position on the meta, Overwatch is usually in a good spot. Overwatch is currently in a good position as you can see. MCCREE

TIER 2
REINHARDT
Reinhardt has seen a rise in pick rates recently. Although his slower style of play might appear to be in opposition to the blazing speed of a Wrecking Ball set-up, he also provides good counterplay. Wrecking ball has recently seen a 25% decrease in knockback. Reinhardt's passive Steadfast ability already provides him with an increase of 30% to this effect. This means that the hamster will be likely to have trouble moving around.
SIGMA
Sigma is not known to be a suitable match for Tier 2. Sigma has been a dominant tank for a long time due to his deep kit, that not being a popular choice in most compositions is him underperforming. After a string of nerfs that were quite severe, he now has lots of utility.
ECHO
Echo is a formidable force since her release and she is still strong. Echo can deal a lot of damage, she's able to fly, and she has one of the most bizarre supers in the game. You can throw the pocket Mercy at her to boost the damage she can deal.
SOMBRA
Sombra is strong in the present due to her meta-heroes. She is both good on the defence and the offence, complimenting most situations she's likely to be in. It's difficult to find a great Sombra however she does win games. However, it's now more accessible than ever before for her to become a great player.
TIER 3
ROADHOG
He has come down a little from his S-Tier glory days in the summer, but Roadhog is still a strong off-tank. He is a great tank to use on its own, making him a great player if you're competing in competition. He's pretty self-sufficient and is a rare quality for tanks.
D.VA
D.VA is a tricky one. She's a feast kind of character and it really will come down to how skilled you know her. The Defence Matrix's capacity to absorb damage is extremely robust. It can reduce stress on your team if you handle it properly. She also assists with peeling the backline and can also help with the dive. She can be helpful in every situation, if she is played correctly.
WINSTON
Winston is one of the top places he's been for quite a while. Winston is a good alternative to Wrecking Ball, especially for maps that have verticality. An increase in his health has allowed him to become a bit more resilient. He is also helped by Zarya's popularity as well as her bubbles. TORBJORN
While many used to consider Torborjn a meme pick, the mechanic actually offers plenty of value in the present.
