Status: Tavern Dweller, Why You Should Solve The Rubik
Personal Page of tommyslee, last updated January 01, 1970
The Rubik's Cube has been on the top of my list of things to do for as long as I can remember. I was always amazed by the way people solved the puzzle with such speed and determination. After hours of practice and quarantine, I finally could cross off my bucket list. It's not just a hobby for me, but a method to increase your focus, concentration endurance, and memory.

Concentration and focus

Solving the cube requires a lot of concentration to work out and when your brain is focused on this particular task, it boosts your concentration. Your brain will be more focused and active in order to process information more quickly. Better concentration will extend to abilities in other areas like reading complex material. Perseverance

The cube demands a lot of patience. It could take me several hours to solve the problem at first. You might need to go through the process repeatedly while bending your fingers until they hurt. However, solving the cube can bring you great satisfaction and accomplishment. Cubers can tackle difficult or time-consuming tasks in the near future and are confident in their ability to accomplish them.

Memory

The memory of your muscles and memory will be improved by solving the fidget gadget. It is first necessary to memorize the algorithms which translate to different actions of the cube. The next stage is to translate the algorithm to your hands. Then, you'll train your fingers using repetitions and develop the muscle memory. With enough repetition you'll be able to forget the letters of the algorithm and rely only on your muscle memory. Ta-da muscle memory!

Reflexes

After you've learned a plethora of algorithms and been able to execute the various tasks using your hands, while also increasing speed, you'll realize that your reflexes are significantly enhanced. The cube's solving naturally develops sharp reflexes as well as incredible hand-eye coordination. The quick reflexes can then be transferred to physical reflexes for typing or playing instruments, in addition to mental abilities like identifying items quickly, reading and noticing colors faster.

Problem-Solving Skills

Problem-solving is a crucial skill and when you sit down and solve the cube, each twist affects subsequent moves. Based on the movements you're making, the next move could alter. This means that you need to be able to quickly discern patterns and find solutions as soon as a cube piece isn't as you would like it to be. If you've learned how to solve the puzzle congratulations! You're now an innovative problem-solver!

Heedfulness

Mindfulness is the act of paying attention completely to the present. It is essential to remain in the present while solving the cube. Since you're losing track of the algorithms, your mind won't wander while you solve the cube. This is why the cube serves as a anchor to help us stay in the present. You will realize that you've successfully focused your attention on a single object when you've completed the cube. This kind of focus is generally hard to achieve however the cube makes it seem effortless!
