Civilizations- OOC
This is a realistic RP. No fantasy, no futuristic.
THe year is 4000 BC, at the dawn of civilization. Nations will arise, and fall. You have just seiged power of a small tribe. Lead them to greatness, and you will become a world power.
5 Continents-
Africa
Asia
Europe
North America
South America
You may choose any modern country except austrailia.
YOu start off very primitive. You cannot advance super fast. You cannot go from building roads to stealth jets in two posts.
You can start off with 3 basic skills. You may choose from a pool of selected skills
You cannot contact another country that you are far away with, for example: If your france, you cannot make diplomacy with Chile.
The United States of America is OFF limits.
You will RP your country as a whole, or as the individual ruler.
War can and will be held.
THere are 6 characterists of a Civilization, you may choose two.
Basic Skill Pool-
Road- Good for expansionist/trader civilizations
Farming - Good for almost all civilizations
Mining- Good for wealth civilizations
Hunting- Good for Expansionist/Nomadic civilizations
Ceremonial Burial- Good for religious civilizations
Craftsmanship- GOod for almost Industrial/Trader Civilizations
Government- Good for almost all civilizations.
Military- good for militaristic civilizations

Expansionist
Industrial
Trader
Wealth
Nomadic
Militaristic
Scientific
My Civilization is Germany. I am Militaristic and Expansionist. My three basic skills are Hunting, Road,and Military.

Holy crap 2x. Awsome idea. We are not able to distribute points? I dont see it possible that my people cannot hunt, or farm inadaquaetly in the least just because I pick the following. I'll see where this goes..

(I would pick scientific but I dont know how you plan on making this work. so before I pick how dose it work? Will other capitols have these scientific capabilities I find if I do not trade them? so much potential with this format if cleaned but who am I to say)

Scientific- You will advance a bit faster.
eg- You will research nuclear missles while people who dont have scientific are researching say..bombers??

Japan, France, and Romania. It isnt smart to not have farming or hunting. How will you get food? it doesnt grow out of trees. Luckily, France and Romania are in europe, they can trade with Germany and Italy when not at war. Japan, i advise you change something or your people are going to starve mighty fast.

Yes, but starting off, scientists might not be motivated- AS THEY HAVE NO FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
Also, heres abit more detail about how the game will work.
At random times, i will decide when certian civilizations enter a new era. This will be based on how they RP. Every new era you can choose 3 new advances. The rest have to be traded to you. I will not allow giving technology to anyone. The next era will be the ancient era
These skills include
Masonry
Monarchy
Archery
Weapon Craft
Battle Tactics
Army
Cattle herding
Clothwork (Knitting, Sewing, etc)
Pottery
Smithing

its based on how well they RP their posts basically. If you RP it exellent you will advance faster, if you do what deimos usually does in LHW, your going to advance very slowly.

Does fishing fall under hunting? Cause we got some good fishing to be had if it does. I'm updating now, and if fishing is part of hunting, I'll change it to that category.

well, 2X said modern countries, otherwise I would have picked Dacia instead of Romania (which of course didn't exist at that time) too.
As for RP-ing a whole country ... I have a feeling we're not gonna get to see a tutorial
