Primary Skills + My town Octagon (drawing only)
H5 > Secondary Skills
Here, I’ll talk about the primary skills of heroes and creatures. I think that the idea (made by NWC and 3DO) of heroes participating in battle was quite a good idea. I don’t matter that most of the members I see here don’t like (or even hate) this thing. On the contrary - I try to make this idea suitable for everyone, but I do not think everybody here would like it. For more, look at the ‘Primary Skills > Global Facts’. Now, read:
H5 > Secondary Skills > Heroes
Now, I’ll post what are the skills (melee, ranged attack, etc.) of the heroes:

H5 > Secondary Skills > Global Facts
- Speed System
Speed can induce an extra effect. For example, if one hero has ‘High” speed, while another has ‘Moderate’, the one with higher speed can attack first or runaway with no retaliation. Here’s the full system:
Slow: 0-2
Fair: 3-4
Moderate: 5-6
High: 7-8
Very High: 9-10
Fair vs Slow: no effect
Moderate vs Slow: 25% of striking first (‘First Strike’)
High vs Slow: 50% of striking first (‘First Strike’)
Very High vs Slow: 75% of striking first (‘First Strike’) and 50% to get no retaliation
Moderate vs Fair: no effect
High vs Fair: 25% of striking first (‘First Strike’)
Very High vs Fair: 50% of striking first (‘First Strike’) and 33% to get no retaliation
High vs Moderate: no effect
Very High vs Moderate: 25% of striking first (‘First Strike’) and 20% to get no retaliation
If a creature has 7 speed and gains 5 more, it won’t have 12 speed - it will have it reduced till 10.
This effect is used for both creatures and heroes.
- Morale System
Morale can induce an extra effect. More morale hero has, more chance to gain an extra turn. Less morale hero has, more chance to lose its normal turn. Also, heroes should have their class renamed when maximum or minimum is collected. For example: -10 Morale: Coward or smth else. Here’s the full system:
~0 Morale: no effect
Each +1 Morale (till 10): each +10% chance to gain an extra turn
Each -1 Morale (till 10): each +10% chance to lose its normal turn
This effect is used for both creatures and heroes, only creatures do not have anything to be renamed. Here’s the hero renaming system:
+10 Morale: Valorous (or Brave)
-10 Morale: Fearful (or Timid)
- Luck System
Luck can induce an extra effect. More luck hero has, more chance to inflict double damage. Less luck hero has, more chance to inflict only half the original damage. Also, heroes should have their class renamed when maximum or minimum is collected. For example: -10 Luck: Distressful or smth else. Here’s the full system:
~0 Luck: no effect
Each +1 Luck (till 10): each +10% chance to inflict double damage
Each -1 Luck (till 10): each -10% chance to inflict half the original damage
This effect is used for both creatures and heroes, only creatures do not have anything to be renamed. Here’s the hero renaming system:
+10 Luck: Blissful (or Joyful, or Happy)
-10 Morale: Distressful (or Fortuneless, or Poor)
- Magic Resistance System
Magic Resistance indicates the resistance the hero/creature has. Here’s the full system:
Each +1%: increases the resistance
Each -1%: increases the effect done to the hero/creature by spells
+100%: immune to their town magic, for example, Dwarf would become immune to Order magic. If the meter is above
+200%: immune to all magic
This effect is used for both creatures and heroes.
- Reputation (my loveliest I think)
Reputation describes the valor he received in combats. Reputation should be collected this way (only by fighting):
Winning a Battle: +1 Reputation
Winning a Battle without any losses: +2 Reputation
Losing a Battle: -2 Reputation
Fleeing a Battle: -4 Reputation
Surrendering a Battle: -2 Reputation
Here’s the full effect system that indicates what would happen when a quantity of Reputation is collected (renaming included):
Below ~0:
-10 Reputation: Disreputable / no retreating or surrendering allowed
-20 Reputation: Disgraceful / hostile army fights everytime you attack
-30 Reputation (minimum): Dishonorable / all units continuously have minimum luck and morale
Above ~0:
+10 Reputation: Known / allows to persuade 25% of hostile army to go away from the combat map
+20 Reputation: Famous / allows to convince 25% of hostile army to come to your army
+30 Reputation: Reputable / everybody flees before the combat is started, still you receive 25% of the XP
+40 Reputation: Admirable / nobody can retreat or surrender from the combat map
+50 Reputation: Honorable / all units have maximum luck and morale
How does it look? Nice? As you know, it’s Djive’s idea, but I think I used it well, so everybody should agree that this thing could be included (H5 with a bit of HC, he…he… )
- Magic Powers
Magic Powers indicates the effectiveness of the aligned spells. For example, Magic Power of Order indicates the effectiveness of Order spells. A little system:
Each +1 (above zero): +1% effectiveness
Each -1 (below zero): -3% effectiveness
Light Magic Powers: Life, Order, Alchemy, Nature
Dark Magic Powers: Death, Chaos, Swamp, Might
Magic Power increases the effectiveness of spells ONLY of the hero, not the creatures theirselves. Spellcasting creatures have their spell effect increased only because of the quantity.
And now the octagon:
Alchemy
Chaos
Death
Life
Might
Nature
Order
Swamp

Order ----------------

EDIT: Oh, no! I ruined my octagon! Still, you'll know what towns I'm going to create.

1) This was an octagon... once... in M. Word
2) I thought that using power of ... <-- heroes name should be nonsense, so instead of "Witches", I posted swamp.

Can you please make the octagon again? Otherwise the magic system doesnt make much sense. Also, I am not sure I understood why +30 Rep will make everyone flee while +40 will not make everyone flee. And if everyone flees, when will someone with +30 Rep be able to fight?
Also, how is it that losing a battle and surrendering have the same value for reputation?
