New Campaings

I was thinking about Homm4 and I noticed that in this forum nobody has mentioned any campaings. I took the ideas of towns and came up with some new campaings. They are:
- The Rising Sun(Yamato)
In this camaing you have to build up the yamatos into a mighty and powerful empire. You have to fight the forces of the evil spirts in order to have peace.
- The eye of Ra (Egypt/Sand)
Similar to the first one just you play as Egypt/Sand town and fight Dungeon and Necro only.
- Great Mech. Race (Mechanical town)
Play for the Mechs in order to rule over all of thee other neutrals. Yuo face Conflux, Stronghold and Fortress.
- The frozen Lands (Viking/Snow)
Play for the Viking/Snow to conquer all of the north and gather many mercenaries as a start of a new empire.
- The Great Illusion (Astral)
Conqur your long rival in your land the Necros in order to prove your supperioruty to them and the underworld.

Tell me what you think.

Artifact Campaings

I used some of the artifacts in the Arifacts thread to create campaings in which you have to ensemble artifacts. The are: The Greand Sword: Ensemble all of the swords(Sword of Judgement, Sword of Hell Fire, Titans Gladius, Black Shabard of the death knight and Red Dragon Flame tounge) to create the ultimite Excalibur. You fight the forces of Evil.
The Vemonus Tounge: Collect all of the Fortress atifacts in order to create this. You fight the Neutrals.
And the last one: The Wise bookman. Collect all artifacts that add to your Knowladge in order to create this book. You play as the Tower.

Some thoughts on some Campaigns

I like your Book of Knowledge campaign idea.  How about something like this:

- Basic Plotline:

"The Book of Antioch has been locked away in the Great Library for several generations. In its covers is the key to eternal youth and the wisdom of the Ancient Ones who locked it away. These are the very things that men and women have killed for!  Hopefully, the wisdom found in the Book will help my people come to peace, as ____________ has been torn by a civil war ever since that day."
  - The first scenario is an attempt to unite the province before civil war destroys it.
  - The second scenario is the chasing after a mad monk, who has a holding just off of the coast.  A piece of an old map is with him.
  - The next few scenarios is chasing down the other portions of the map from the various factions.
  - Once the map is completed, the next scenario is finding the key, itself, which is guarded by the lich king and his undead minions.
  - The key and map found, the next task is to find the Great Library in the underground tunnels.

Or, perhaps have a campaign involving a revolution or insurrection against a tyrannical dictator, only to discover that the dictator is merely a puppet for something much larger than the heroes have anticipated...

Then there's the classic hero's homecoming idea, where they arrive home only to find that home no longer exists, but has been devided among their enemies, or that someone has infiltrated the government, and perhaps even the group of heroes themselves... (perhaps as part of the campaign, the heroes have a "falling out", then must fight against one another in the final scenario)

Campaigns

One thing thats needed in heroes4 is decent cut screens. I mean they have always been very bad but now there getting shorter and worse.(shadow of death) Not much of a reward for hours of work.

Im not sure about what the stories should be for the 4th but i want much more variation as too often it was dont lose your hero and destroy all enemy towns. I hope they can come up with new ways to win the scenario.Like how about stealing the grail?

cutscreens and plotlines

I agree with you guys.  The cutscreens should be improved in quality.  Some of them weren't bad (like the one in SoD where the creatures are sitting around the campfire), but others were a bit simplistic.

As for plotlines, I also agree that the lose your hero=death and defeat all towns is a bit boring when it's all the time...  Gaining the grail would be a good notion, or perhaps upgrade a certain town in a resource poor, enemy infested area... you lose the town, you lose the map... or perhaps something else other than the classic four defeat parameters...  Perhaps the loss of an artifact that you're given in the beginning of the campaign or something...

Another Campaing

I just read the topic NEW GREAT TOWN and I'm adding a campaing.

It is:
     - The Land of Sand. You play as the desert town and fight the Egyptian Town in order to should your supperiority to them.

Tell me what you think.

Sand.
I disagree to the sand town because its too similiar to the Egypt town, and if the barbarians will stay, they should be in the sand campaign.

Sand again

Mystery not that I would not agree with you, I'm just keeping the balance. I said I would include all of the new towns, so i did it. If the Egypt town is included I guess we would not need the desert town.

Sand Town campaign

I like the idea of the new campaign... But I was under the impression that the Egyptian town WAS the sand town... (I could be wrong though...)  Perhaps instead have a group of these Egyptian towns or Barbarian towns fighting one another as the key to the success in the campaign... And the key to the campaign is more to "unite the clans" as it were because of "outlandish" invaders, who would be another town type that could be included later on.  Perhaps even an earth, air or fire version of the conflux if they plan to make elemental decisions...  And as well as "uniting the clans", there is some form of artifact that is needed to defeat this strange force from taking over and destroying your ways of life...

I hope the Heroes 4 Campaigns will be like the campaigns that were part of the Heroes 2 Price of Loyalty expansion pack. I think all of the Heroes 3 campaigns sucked. Way to easy and no replay value at all.

Are there more players who liked the POL campaigns just like me ?

POL? Oh yeah!!!

*waves his hands in the air*  I did! I did!  I liked the POL campaigns!!!  The original HOMM2 campaigns were cool too.

Really?  I just thought those ideas were enhancing those that were already on the board.  I was thinking also of one that could be an elemental war one... (I think the other one was merely fighting against the elementals..)

How about this:  You choose one of the elemental types and play as that type through the campaign to see which element is the supreme amongst all of the elements!! (I know. it's stealing a little bit from the AB campaign "Tourney of Life", but I think it might work for an Elementalist campaign...  to rule the other elementals.)  What I was also thinking for this one, is to have one optional scenario (which will use up time on the campaign) that could gain an artifact or an alliance which could help in the future battles of your element...  (I think this idea is also stealing a little bit from that YTV computer animation cartoon about the different planets made from the elements...)  Actually, come to think of it, didn't the people in that cartoon resemble the elementals in HOMM3 in a way?

Yes, i really loved the POL Campaigns.
The reason not being the story or plot, but in the campaigns there simply where some very well designed and challenging maps. I guess the quality of the maps in a campaign is more important to me than the story behind the campaign.

POL

I really liked POL as it's self. I liked the campaings and the new features. Also I had it on my computer and somehow deleted it. Anyone know where I can download it? Also I don't think that the HommIII campaings sucked! If you buy HommIII complete(like me) you have all the campaings and that is fun!
