I have frequently visited earlier incarnations of my internet-self. I have tracked my writings back to january 2004.
I figure it is a waste of time though. I don't know for sure what I was thinking when I wrote every single little detail. My memory can be faulty. I only see the end results and it doesn't tell me much, if anything at all?
I can see I wrote very differently. I pleaded a lot more to conscience. I was rather impatient. I could invest myself fully without regard to anyone else for days or weeks. Then I left and never considered the experience again. I envy that. But maybe it is all my faulty memory.

It's much more complex than that. Sure it might be true for some people, but even then, you won't know who for sure. I mean, even then, there's still a lot of actual social identity connected to ones account. Don't get me wrong please. I'd love that to be how it was. But as long as this forum doesn't really offer anything remotely similar to a productive purpose that's still aligned with people who are here for emotional reasons and without a filter for those who come here to actually be someone they aren't, then simply just no.

I think it depends on the individual, but personally there have been many times where I have posted things that have been miles away from what I would act like IRL. >.>
I'm pretty sure people like Nighterror and Duke are very, very different people IRL. But I enjoyed Nightterrors posts and I really hate when mods ban fun people that bring some drama to the community so maybe i'm a bit biased lol.

Yea Xerox but the point is that Wesley has been Banned TWICE.
He just keeps coming back.
It does not matter if he is cool now or if his post is DA BOMB B!!!
He is banned & he is supposed to stay banned.
There are no exceptions for him.

I don't understand. I guess you accidently deleted my post. I don't mind, mistakes happen.
So well, I think Val should allow permanent banned people to return, because it has been 10 years since wesley was banned, I think, and that's a really long time and I don't think people realise how long "permanent" really is. I mean Val isn't even active here anymore, so I don't think he considers stuff like this.

I do agree with you. Whilst some may come to online message boards and really act themselves, others may use the opportunity to put on a mask and act in a manner that's opposite to who they are. I guess in it all boils down to the individual and why they joined the forum. Of course there are thousands of variables that can influence the way a person acts online. Trying to figure then all out is next to impossible.

In a way, it's hard to say we aren't us, just that we don't act in a way which we'd do in other circumstances. I mean we're always "us" aren't we?

Wesley has proven time & again that you can be whoever ya want to be on here. he played many characters & yall fell for each one.
He has not changed much since becoming Night Terror.

Yeah that's just the strange thing isn't it? 10 years passed, right? I mean if he was a child 10 years ago he'd be a teenager now, if he was a teenager, he'd be close to adulthood. Both stages are big changes, so unless wesley were like 45+ years old, I have a really hard time imagine he wouldn't have gotten a LOT smarter and thereby changed behaviour a lot in that time period.

I don't try to stick up for anyone, I just like to question stuff and potential social injustice easily make me take part of discussions from the less used point of view to the degree I think I can support the given view. Kitten Angel, as far as I know, was the opposite case, a moderator who used moderation in questionable ways for own gain. Further more, I belive there are some personal stuff about her much worse than that about respect for loved ones and other peoples love, but I won't go into those details, because I've never heard her point of view and I don't think it's any of my business to take part of any of that stuff.

That's just it, isn't it? I personally find it more within Nightterror's character to immitate someone "hated", than for some kid/teenager/young adult to return after 10 years to a place he didn't even threat well. Unless he thinks he's part of some great injustice, but then he wouldn't be a troll, but a poor soul. I don't know though, it's way before my time here.
