The link to this thread that is above the actual game isn't working properly.
Anyway, it looks like I'm going to play this for a while and I opened up an HC Alliance, so if anyone wants in look it (or me) up.

Thanks for pointing out the game thread link bug - should be fixed now.
I've also started playing this game. On the first screen where you create username and password, at the very bottom there is a server selection. Sadly I selected the Australian server. For anyone who hasn't started playing yet, I suggest selecting the International server - this should enable HCers to be in the same game.

Oh, so that was the server. I saw something about "international", clicked it, didn't find Israel on the list and left it as it was.

I've got to level 16 now, which level are you up to?
Some general thoughts:
This is a "do things and come back in a few hours" kind of game. As you level up you get access to fancier buildings that take longer to build. But there are more and more options in terms of combat, etc. Then you start being able to have outposts which are like secondary towns.
The game does encourage you to be evil - attacking NPC orc towns for gold, and attacking other players for fame and big resource loot.
Some tips for new players:
If you are getting attacked by other players, upgrade your towers, level 2 tower upgrade is cheap and lets you have 2 more defenders on the walls. Get pikemen and arbalists. And then wizards when you level up enough. There is an honor points system that discourages much stronger players from attacking newbies.
Go for the "get to level 10" quest - it is not hard to complete and gives you crazy loot, including 25 very strong attack troops and big piles of resources.
When you capture the first outpost (you need to level up enough), the resource icons (ex: 10 wood, 4 food) mean how many resource producing buildings of that type you will be able to have in that outpost. Choose wisely because you can't relocate an outpost (as far as I know).

I'm level 14.
My main problem is currently money. I don't have enough to keep a big army. Either that, or I'm loosing too many warriors on raids. Not sure which.

The best ways of earning gold that I found (aside from collecting taxes) is attacking the lower level orc camps. For low level camps I find that there's no need to spend gold on espionage - I just send enough troops and have no losses. So instead of high level orc camps nearby I'm currently attacking lower level orc camps further away.

Could be worth a try... as long as the loot is not lower than what you spend on the raid.
Edit: Huh, that actually worked. Took me a while to find the right level to raid - one that causes minimum casualties yet gives proper loot, but it's going very well now and I'm building a Paladin army. By the way, Paladins seem to be the only attackers in the game with high loot capacity so it is advisable to use them asap. Also, I built an outpost with almost nothing but houses in it, so I'm rolling in some serious cash from taxes now.

Sounds like you're on a roll 
Here's what I figured:
level 1 orc camp - 2 axemen
level 2 orc camp - 6 axemen
level 3 orc camp - 10 axemen
no losses, free loot 
And I've started using the 5 hour tax collection. Even leaving it overnight, because even if you miss the collection you still get a reasonable chunk of free gold.

I almost use the 5 hour collection, unless I know for certain that my last chance to collect will be in an hour.
And you should really upgrade to Paladins at this point. I couldn't yet put a number on it, but judging from stats, they should be able to return with more loot. Also, you can increase to level 5 camps easily.
