Identify old map
Hi,
I am coming back to Heroes3 and i was trying to find an old map to play it with my son. All i can remember is that you start in the middle of a very dense forest/vegetation with a small army (and no city i believe). Then you began to battle extremely difficult combats where every creature was important. I think that it was small/medium size. I have checked hundred of maps in my old CDs and download huge collections but could not find the map. If somebody has any clue... (in the meantime i have found wonderful maps to be played)
Thanks

that sounds a bit like A Life of Adventure, it's one of the four default campaigns in the WoG mod lol

Thanks for the answer. Quite similar but it is not "A life..." At the time i was playing Homm3, i was living in France so maybe it was a map made by french fans.

I have a few maps in mind but it would help to know more. What kind of army did you have ?

My memory is not so good. I would say a few castle troops (pikemen, archers) but it could be wrong. However I have a visual image in my head of the beginning : hero in a dense vegetation where you barely see any path and you are ambushed by small enemy armies (but strong enough to beat you if not play correctly).
I thank you very much for the effort. As I've said, now i discovered many wonderful maps to enjoy again the game.

I know a map called Fairy Tales that starts similar to what you described
You start with a Town but you cannot have any creature dwellings, in a place with dense vegetation and a small army with Pikemen and Archers, but you are not ambushed by creatures unexpectedly, you see them on the map and have to get past them, so it might not be that one.

Yes, I know it. I was playing it yesterday. But it is not that one (unless my brain mixes several maps). I need also to check for the campaigns as i was only looking at the individual maps.
Don't worry too much if it is too complicated. Thanks a lot

It's not complicated, but I don't remember playing a map that fits your description better, even if I have played quite a few...
I hope you can find it and it's good to know you enjoy more maps now

Sounds like a Restoraton of Erathia campaign (?) map where you are surrounded by zombies and need to find a town quickly as you don't start with one.

That was a single scenario called Knee Deep in the Dead. I had forgotten about it.

Sounds like a map I played recently by Scrowe called "Hail to the King". There is also a sequel to this map called "Shar's War"
Both can be found on the Celestialheavens website.
