as this being a battle forum...
as this being a battle forum, i feel this topic is quite nessesary. I bought HOMM 4 and i liked it at first, (MOSTLY THE GRAPHICS) but i couldnt stand how the battle systems went. SO ANNOYING! your about the size of a pea in a bowl of stew and your a million miles away from the targets...also, no grid......why god why did you make us wait to long and then tear our thoughts hopes and dreams to shreds?!! I do not know. But i need to figure it out. For i lay awake at night wondering if HOMM 5 will face the same great threat. I thought the the battle set-up in the last ones (HOMM 1, HOMM 2, HOMM 3) were spectacular! Everything was big and colorsful and the grid----OH THE GRID!! ok.....i like the overall game play--not the battle........

you have a grid here as well, and the combat system is so much better than the one in heroes 3
!

Preferably, I dont use it, however the grid came in a patch.
Grid is ugly, and usless anyways, except if calulating exact movement, but you can always right click any stack to see thier movement anyways.
*doubts calculating exact movement with grid will ever happen

i don't use the grid either. i DO use the movement shadow, especcially handy to see if your opponent can reach you and it doesn't look as bad as the grid.

I must say, i have spend a sum of time playing but never found the grid option. NO NEED TO GET SO ANGRY OVER IT! i use the shadow as well Japjer. But, i really like the size of the creatures in HOMM 3. Homm 4 isnt incredibly bad, but i think it could have been LOADS better...

NEVERMIND! if i say your angry you say your not, if i say your overreacting, you say your nto. there is NO point. FORGET IT! ITS NOT ANGER OR OVERREACTION, JUST NOTHING. back to the subject of BATTLE---------i neednt more info.
