Star Wars H5 total conversion
Topic name pretty much speaks for itself.
I'm planing to create a small, yet total conversion of heroes5 to Star Wars setting.
For now im planing to create only two fraction Rebels and Empire.
All content that does'nt fit Star Wars universe would be removed from the game, interface etc would be changed. Some of the H5 mechanic would also be changed to suit sw universe more properly.
For now there is a few finished models of the characters.
Here is stormtrooper with stun baton
And with the blasters
And some army trooper as not upgraided stormtrooper creature
CREDITS - Stormtrooper model originaly created by DT85 for jedi academy game, stun baton and E11 rifle created by Rooxon for jedi academy, army trooper model created by Vade Parvis, all this ported to heroes5 by me
Also, of course, picture would't be full without Darth Vader himself.
CREDITS - Vader model originaly created by Toshi for jedi academy, vader hilt created by Revan Dark for jedi academy, ported for h5 by me
So guys what do you think about this idea?
I'm also not promising you it would be finished any soon.
I hope everyone understands that it requires a lot time to finish such thing properly.

Huge thanks, but, unfortinatly I can't give them to you to use in NCF. You see, those models aren't made by me in the first place, and most of the original autors grant permission to use their work only in case it would be total conversion.
Besides I personaly think, that just randomly placing star wars creatures in heroes5 setting would look kinda ridiculus.
So, as much as I want, I can't give them to NCF.
But you can use some of my old creatures, if you want to.

As you can see, they are ports from h6 and dark messiah. If you like them, feel free to add them to NCF, I would be wery glad to contribute something to your awesome mod.

Back in those days I were planing adding new playable town in the game, without removing any of the 8 originaly existing, only now I'm sort of the found a way to do it. He instead just replace sylvan with sanctuary, thats not the way I planned it to be. But in the end, again, let it just be as it is.

Interesting! How did you manage to add a ninth city ? This is something we want to do in MMH5.5 but so far we have not found a way.
Most of the hex editing progress was made thanks to Deflaktor and a few other people from back in the days.
There is also a hex editing guide where most of the existing hex knowledge is gathered. Feel free to contribute if you want .

Well, It's not really 9th city. I'ts more like possibility to build alternative dwelling in existing city, so while player starts map with sylvan town he could build either sylvan town or sanctuary or even a combination of those two. With proper model work it would allso look visualy great.
The method doesn't involve hex editing. It's involve simple scripting, editithing .xdb files and modeling ofcourse. I could be more specific if you want.

I'm not planing to add anything like alternative dwelling in this star wars mod. I probably not even plan to do this mod with alternative dwelling. It's just idea that is proven to be working. Idea which I would probably not going to use any soon. I mean could explain how to create this alternative dwelling if you need it in your 5.5 mod, but it might be quite complicated for me since english is not my native langueche.

I wouldn't have assumed it is not your native language until you said so. Your English is good.
If you want throw a guide and post it here on which things and where you do them in the files that will be good enough for everyone that knows how to script LUA for Heroes V.

Small but important update, all resources were replaced to one that fit star wars setting. This time, models were made by me.
repair parts (originally wood), computer chips (originally ore), crystals (originally mercury)
(if you played Kotor games you probably remember first two resources)
fuel tanks (originally crystals), power cells (originally sulfur), medical supplies (originally gems)
by the way, a word about medical supplies. as i said before i intend to change some gameplay aspects to fit star wars more, one of this aspect is that you will be able now cure dead creatures after the battle wasting medical supplies on this purpose.
and of cource, currency from the galaxy far far away, credits, they replace gold, obviously
and some icons examples

Right now, there is not much time for me to work on mod. I'm kinda learning scripting in order to add some new functions in the game. So, without further words, I just want to show some little, "work in progress" screenshots.
Some interface and decoration sketches.
And trooper with heavy weapon.
CREDITS - Stormtrooper model originaly created by DT85 for jedi academy game, this big blaster is based on model from High Quality Blasters created by Sithspecter for KOTOR.
I just want to give thanks one more time to DT85, Sithspecter, Rooxon, Toshi and many others for their work. It is realy supports and inspires when talented and skilled moders give you permition to use their work in your mod, and wishing you good luck with your progect.
