Why would people want to sue McDonalds? Its their choice to eat there. If it makes you fat, don't eat there.
The people that are sueing McDonalds should be Slapped! Good thing the judge isn't a dumba$$.
A few days ago I ate at McDonalds. My friend worked there so we got food off the "50 cent menu" we got about 10 dollars worth of food. We had so much food, we could of fed Ethopia  .

the thing i dont get about the case thing, u couldnt gain 200 pounds in like a week, wouldn't they see they were getting fat? they probably tried doing on purpose to get some cash from McDs

I didn't think Wendy's sold burgers. I thought Wendy's were Ice Cream shops....

in australia Wendy's is a good ice cream shop.
in america, and in my case here in japan, wendy's is a totally different fast food chain like mcdonalds that sells these disgusting plasticy burgers that are square and ugh... i never go there!!
btw, i was wondering is the apple in the apple pie apple? haha coz theres like this joke between me and my friend coz someone told me that its actually potato but the sauce makes it taste like apple!! i told him that as a joke, not believing it and now we argue about it, and it actually looks like it too!
I know this thread is a year old but someone revived it anyway

Mc D isnt a food company... try land investment.
They buy land, wait 100 years, sell it
(make money). Meanwhile, they use it as a franchise(more money) that produces something (more money), etc..
Thats why they have it "in participating restraunts only"

At least in the New England Area, Wendy's is by far the best of the fast food chains. Burger King is almost always terrible. Sometimes McDonald's is better than most and the Wendy's is worse than most. However, good Wendy's > good McDonald's. End of story.

How about getting some ground beef then making your own burgers.
Yiu can even make it greasy,bloody,tough & hard to chew like how real men eat it .
Or you can release all the grease, it it well done,very soft & it melts in your mouth the way wimps eat it

Indonesian take away
On my way from work we have an Indonesian take away ( Toko) has much better food, even got some of those green thingies ( veggie something?) in it. Wouldnt say it is healthy food, but im pretty convinced its less damaging that fast food. Besides it costs less ( about E5,00/$6,00 for a 1person meal) and it dosnt leave you hungry half an hour after dinner. Not to mention it tastes good after you nuked it. i do think nuking McD food when its cold. And fyi, i worked at McD too, waaaaaay back in the 80's. i wouldnt say it is quality food, but peeing in the fridge, spitting in the food is ridiculus. It may happen in once in a blue moon. but i am sure the FDA or its foreign collgues would have torched down any stores if they even had a clue what happened. HOWEVER there are rumours that in certain shoarma/kebab places the garlic sauce has a special 'male ingredient' kept me from visiting some of the accused places for a while

Here's the deal
I was working in McDonalds when I came here for like 3 months.
The reasons I quit.
The pay is a minimum, and even if you are a maneger you get paid below 10CAD per hour. Sure I was working full time and got 1200CAD a month but still, they raise prices and never your paycheck.
I have no complains about the food, the meat comes packaged, sealed and frozen, no tapeworms or anything, the grill is always maintained cleaned, sure the meat gets bloody after it's coocked but it's all drained so no biggy, sure the nuggets are made of scraps but there are no feathers or bones it it, sometimes it has dark spots so we throw it away, never serve it. McChicken is also made of scraps. Grill and Crispy chicken are whole chicken breast, fully coocked and really tasty. The Sauces are real, the lettuce is real, the salads are real and fresh.
No one spits in burgers, they are not little kids, why would you spit in someones burger? It's a cliche, I never saw anyone spit on burgers, and I never did too.
The fish is real too, it's north-atlantic cod, the folded eggs for the griddles are pre-coocked at the factory and we just heat em up but they are real. The round eggs for the muffins are real, coocked fully, and really tasty.
Bottom line, I don't know what you want from McDonald's, you don't want to eat there, don't, but jesus christ why sue them? For being a pig and eating double bigmacs every day and becoming fat? That's crap.
And if you are wondering why I left McDonalds, it's because they don't value their employees, they treat you like a slave, and no one cares about how you feel. the prices raise while your paycheck does not, and for beeing the employee of the month you get a lousy watch that breaks down after a week. There is no motivation, and people who work there are just poor university students who got cought up and don't feel like looking for a new job or people who don't have anything better to do and just need to do something.
As for the food, it's good.

The food may be "real" but a lot of it is chemically engineered. Take the frying oil for example. The stuff the french fries are cooked in is largely artificial - loaded with trans fats that are just absolutely terrible for you.
If you ever want to see how "fake" that food is, I encourage you to rent "Supersize Me" from your local video store and check out the bonus features. There's a scene in there where they watch the food decompose over a period of a few weeks and it is just... disturbing.

I wonder if anyone has seen or heard of the documentary "Super Size Me," where the guy ate at McDonald's and only at McDonald's for 1 full month. The result, well, he gained a lot of weight and some of the internal organs were uh... melting? He was not in the greatest health condition, let's just leave it at that.
Something else that we found interesting. Last year, I interned at GM China, and a few of the other interns and I went to McDonald's for lunch. We noticed that there were quite a few couples on dates there, and one of the guys commented that if he were to take a girl to McDonald's for a date in the US, he might just get dumped before he finished suggesting the idea.

The food is not chemically engineered. The oil for the chicken and fish is regular Canola oil, and the oil for the fries is just vegtable margarine, yeah it may be engineered but in a way that vegtables are engineered, you don't complain about engineered vegtebales do you?
So what if there are trans fat? This is why you don't ned to eat McDonalds for 1 fool month, no one asks you to. It's the same thing with smoking you know, if you are smoking will you sue the tobacco company for giving you lung cancer? Why would you sue McDonalds for making you obese?
And about showing food decompose.... ANY type of food will decompose, and if I show you how Black Forest Ham decomposes when it's not in the fridge after two weeks, will you stop eating black forest ham? and if I show you a dog decomposes for a few weeks, you wouldn't want to have a dog as a pet anymore? That's just bull.

I worked at McDonalds for a total of 5 years and after seeing how the place was ran food was handled and the unsanitary conditions I will NEVER eat from there again.
Once i quit McDonalds I lost 60 lbs go figure LOL

Of course, different countries have different laws about what can be added to foods. In the states, laws against trans fats are just catching on. They may be different in other countries, but I highly doubt it because the health consequences of eating these types of oils are only recently becoming known.

Who said anything about suing? If you choose to eat there and your health takes a plunge because of that stupidity, you have nobody to blame but yourself. I just said it's disgusting and don't know why anyone would eat it.

You're commenting on something you obviously haven't seen. The point is, McDonald's fries do NOT decompose. They were left out for weeks and not one single mold spore was to be found. Whereas the (non-McDonalds) control fries were a green furry mess. You gotta ask yourself: if even fungus is afraid of it, should YOU be eating it? That's just nasty.
