shoot here jinxer pls, it's not just my problem, few more experienced that.
nvd, it's about that checksum error while trying to join a game, even if maps are identical. i hope jinxer has THE answer cause i searched for it 2 weeks.
im refreshing thread like once in 30 minutes  , so don't be late with the explanantion.

I'm interested in that subject, too. We had two ideas of exlplnations yet, none of it confirmed, however.
These were our ideas (German community):
- Having certain maps with scripts in your map folder which might haven an effect on other maps. that idea came to us, since deleting all maps form the directory solved the problem.
- Opening maps in the map editor to check the map's outlay before playing my slightly modify the map.

Yes i had that too!! people couldn't join me altough i had the map in maps folder ,and after i deleted all other maps except the right one it worked , I'm not sure if its connected but i did have more then 1 version of that map in map folder.

The problem is YOUR map Teacher! Either it has a virus or some bug that is causeing this....SO ANYONE THAT has your map Lost Dragon1.2 in there folder will experience this problem... Give it a shot.... delete all forms of Lost Dragons from your Hardrive then I bet you can connect.... Last night Rethwen and I had same chechsum problem for 30 mins and couldnt figure it out.... and he mentioned that when we tryed loading save for BAttleZone the save room kept sayin Lost Dragons and he deleted map and it still didnt work so I deleted the Lost Drgons map from my computer and WAMMO it started working we could connect and all was fine. And you just sent me the map yesturday no trouble before that...then you send me and troubles start....then I delete map and all troubles gone.... So PLEASE look into this. I bet it will solve your troubles and others as well.

Well. I got that map yesterday (after trying a ton of other maps with insa that didnt work). But of course insa may have had it in his folder all the time... We got lost dragon to work though!! But not Fast Forward, Dueblo or Battlzone.

here we go, tnx to jinxer who gave me the idea.
it's not about any virus
i tell you now exactly the issues ive been experienced : (Ghast-same as your problem):
2 weeks ago:
i launched dueblo map trying to play with sx. he couldnt join for some reason, we exchanged map ,to ensure we have same version , but was impossible to join , no matter who hosted. then we decided to play another map. we took his map, circle of winter (a bit of advertising here, show me the money after u pass the exams, sx ). we started ok. by its nature, taking an observatory, u can see enemies moves, over the mountains, keepin sim turns on too. but surprise: i make some moves, flagged mines, tho he didnt see me moving outta town,same goes for me, his hero seemed stuck in town. weird we said , and we hope sending will refresh (crazy thought , i know) but after both pressed end of turn, we were stuck with "waiting for other player" bar (like ghast's). we started over again, this time almost same behaviour, with the differnce that one of us received turn and could play day 2, the other still waiting with bar on the screen.
ok! my games installment could be the problem. so i decided to reinstall it from scratches. original, hof and patch. all fine we tried again with dueblo which of course, despite any logic, didnt want to let us both in the same room (guess its 100% hetero protection, or anti child abuser filter ).
we gave up and i tried with nevermind fast forward, after dueblo refused again. after 2 turns same problem as in game with sx.
its time to format pc . said and done.
happy that i applied the "solution-to -all-pc-issues" tried again.
surprise!? or not!!!!!! same checksum freaking error, no matter what i tried the was the only message i got. i even copied bit by bit the whole ubi folder from valky's pc (who has played well with sx on dueblo) but that didnt work too. the only one who i could join /play the game (dueblo map) was insatiable.
i searched 1 whole week for the answer, which came yesterday, and its completelly outta field of fixed sciences : upon launching the game unpacks all of the maps (which are archives in fact) and on some machines, dunno whats the criteria, it kinda mixes them up , so a map its not recognized as THAT map, but other, and checksum occurs.
the answer, which is tested now, after game with karim and some other tests, is : 100% of joining , to avoid this error is to MOVE ALL MAPS INTO A BACKUP FOLDER (NEW FOLDER) KEEPING IN /MAPS FOLDER ONLY THE CURRENT MAP YOU ARE PLAYING (RECOMMENDED FOR BOTH PLAYERS TO DO THAT). IT WILL ELIMINATES CHECKSUM ERROR AND THE DESYNCRONISATION (mentioned above).
one more thing, most of u know that already, when using autosave feature, sometimes ull notice the game takes a bit longer when making saves and it turns to be really annoying when its more than 30 seconds to do that each turn. the solution is to erase some older (auto)saves which are no longer required from the saves directory (under 20 its more than ok).
the location is something like this :
C:\Documents and Settings\bogdan.bratu\My Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Hammers of Fate\Profiles\teacher\Saves

Where was this thread a week ago, when i tried to connect with Teacher? 1 more game could be played, instead of some experiments, and couple installations.
