Hmmm, I must say that except maybe for the Thane, I like the original ones better, because the colour balancing is nicer.
However, I can see that some details in the armor is much nicer in the sharpened one, so maybe the trick would be to apply this feature only to certain parts of the model - like axe, armor, clothing etc?

Great idea to sharpen all the textures to increase the quality, if you would this for all creatures in the game you would really give it a revolutionary quality boost, but please don't change colors!

@Alc I agree, partial application of this technique would create the best looking creatures.
But:
are these editor screenshots?

You should make this for all factions without changing the models, just sharpening.

Just one question. How do these sharpened images improve performance. I could easily switch the resolution on my computer to 1680x1050 and ahcieve the same effect but it scars perfromance greatly.

I'm sorry to say this, but I believe the effect is not as amazing as shown in the screenshots. When I set the texture detail to very high resolution 1280x1024 there is hardly any difference. I made two HQ screenshots of the stormlord and the only difference I saw was that the edges were a little darker, but it was not really a quality increase. Maybe it can help to increase the quality on lower settings for people with an older pc, but on the other hand when you have all textures sharpened in your usermod folder you will probably get longer loading times.

Longer load times? Surely not significantly. But what you say is what I thought at first - the screenshots from above just blur the textures. After all, I thought, texture files don't generally seem to look quite that blurry...

When I said all textures sharpened I really meant ALL textures (All creatures, heroes etc.). Because I think that's what this mod finally wants to achieve, better quality graphics for the whole game.
So when you place 1 gig of textures in your usermods folder I'm quite sure you will get longer loading times (also in game when opening town screens for example). And that's why I ask myself the question: is it really worth it?
