well.. here is the response I got from the artist (I ask if he/she work on H5)

would you really like an aviak as a race? naga and aviak should be nutural race..or barberic masteriy race like the stronghold.

Oh, I would really like Aviak as a race. Maybe if not as an entire faction, atleast as an unit of a faction

*cough* Avian Aviaks and naga lamians? I think I almost wet myself, would certainly have it been sure that these were for H6

Seems that all those pics shows off 2 upgrades for the basic or maybe there will be two to choose from for each tier? And why do I get the feeling that the upg will be melee and magic based but no ranged?
Warrior and/or Mage all the way will be quite monotomous.

But if only 3 units in avian faction were actual avians, it might work... 4 other units would be some random additional bestiary like in other factions.

Harpies = Can't really fly, act like furies?
Tallstriders = Weird Ostrich-like monsters.
Armored Aviak = Wears so much armor they can't fly.
Elder Aviak (Yes, I know names need work) = Too old to fly, but casts pwnsome spells.

Been while since doing any concept army.. but for fun, here is a quick concept of Aviak line up. Can argue that while they have wings, Aviak wing are not strong for long or height flight. Therefore, some still count as ground units (or canft cross castle wall). Also they could generally have low def.
Aviak Hatchling / Squackling
-basic lv 1 land unit (wing not strong yet) (ground)
Aviak Raider
-Blood Maiden like light offensive melee unit. (low flying)
Aviak Sunshooter
-Range shooter. (low flying)
Aviak Skydiver
-Flying high speed offensive unit (with battle dive like ability)
Owisk Shaman
- Owl-like specie. Magic user. (ground)
Aviak Talonguard
-Flying defensive tanker. (low flying)
Roc / Simurgh
-lv 7 powerful flying unit.

Though I don't like much factions with a lot of things of just one race, those are nice, actionjack. By the way, what is a Simurgh?

Roc or Dragon.

Simurgh is a Persian Roc (or from their legend)
Why would Avik's lv 7 be dragon? I guess unless its an Air dragon.... but feel like their "higher up demi-deity" would be a big bird...

Yeah, it would be weird having a dragon in the midst of all those birds... kinda anti-climatic. Except if it is a feathered dragon, then it would rock!
A good creature for them would be the Griffin, provided the existing factions change some in HoMM VI.

I would really like the birdmen to be a new faction, even if i dont really think they are going to make this.
I think those images are for the new RPG game in China. But i am not sure.
By the way i do not like the appearance of the nagas, not my style sorry.
I don't want the aviak to be stupid creatures.
