Heroes 5 Info

seems Fabrice Cambounet, the h5 producer at ubisoft has made a little statement about h5 development.

http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~homm/index.php?page=features/interviews/fabricecambounet.htm

it also seems from this that he is looking for ideas from the gaming community's from around the world for ideas and suggestions etc, and intends to visit fan sites to get this.

also it seems h3 was his favourite homm game
so maybe there is hope that more h3 attributes will b carried over to h5

What I posted in ToH board

This was posted on Chelestial Heavens, Round Table and I thought this might help ease some of our minds about what is to come with the Heroes series.

And so it happened that Heroes fans from the well-known Russian site, getting tired of waiting, sent a letter to Ubisoft...

Dear ...,

We, the fans of Heroes of Might and Magic™ series, are writing to you on behalf of the biggest Russian fan-site dedicated to Heroes IV, Heroic Corner. (There are 2500 daily visitors)

We are very concerned with the future of the HoMM series that became somewhat uncertain after the bankruptcy of 3DO.

Knowing that UbiSoft had recently purchased the Heroes of Might and Magic™ brand, we would like to know more about the future of the brand. In particular, we are especially curious about possible development of HoMM 5 that we are anxiously looking forward to.

Also, we compiled a list of desired improvements of gameplay to make a great game more balanced and dynamic. If you are interested in our help, we will be more than glad to send you the listyou’re your examination. Also, we are eager to help you with the game development, if you accept fan advices. For instance, we could conduct surveys or polls on various questions and issues.

In any case, we would greatly appreciate an answer. We are eagerly awaiting any good news about future Heroes games.

With best regards,

Heroes of Might Magic™ fans and
Igor Savenkov aka LaBoule (Developer and founder of the Heroic Corner web site)
http://heroes.ag.ru

And in just 10 days they received a reply.

Hi

I am Ubisoft's producer for Heroes oMM 5. Thanks a lot for your mail

We are still very early in the process of developping this title, however every help is welcome. We are very interested in all the community
contribution to the design of the next instalment in the serie ! It will be Thomas Legrand's core job on this title, to be the point of contact for all such discussions with the fan community. He is assisting me in producing the game.

Feel free to send us (to Thomas and me in cc) any idea and proposal you have. I cant promise we would include it, but it will definitely be
considered

For later stages processes like polls we would also be interested in any help of course.

Basically we need ideas so we all can play in one game not 2 dif heroes games.
Heroes 3 was great I played it a long time & heroes 4 is totally a dif game.
If theres a way to compromise both games into one great game.
Then all of us can play in one single game.
Be great to hear from both heroes 3 players & heroes 4 players about ideas to make it into a single game.

why havent we made a "Heroes V: Fans Ideas" thread yet?  choose a forum and make one!  he said he's waiting for an email from HC, so might as well start.  although it'd be best if a mod started the thread so that it would look more "official"

just seems like the title should be something recognizable like "Heroes 5: Fans Wishes" or something.. i'd have never known that the "hit and miss" thread was of this nature if you hadnt told me.

I have an Idea

Heroes 5: Michael Jackson's Revenge

All the heroes units are variants of Michael Jackson.  Upgrades involve dance attacks and ooowww voice spells.

WOW!  So the "Heroes V" project isn't dead ??

Great news!!

Let's just pray for it to become closer to heroes III gameplay than to the heroes IV one, if it ever really comes out

Btw Midnight. Let me tell you that I find blockbuster to be a really fun and (concerned its random) balanced template!

Which arises an interesting question: do you find pleasure playing this template or you see into it too deeply to enjoy?

To address the topic as well: I hope random maps will be relevant in H5. Also I hope that the AI will be _much_ more clever, or at least not that calculable.

I know its a hard task to do, but as playing a fight is similar to playing chess, the horroristic machinery developed for chess might be useful. Also, just as in chess, the program should learn from decent players: I am sure that many people would be enhusiastic about getting highest point against a published program.

Well, if an intelligent business person only looks at the market history of H3 and compare it to H4 I doubt that he will want to make H5 like H4

H3 was a storming success for many years. H4 never was anything like that. In fact, we can call it a mistake.

But we'll see. Also, why would they be intelligent?

lol there could have been alot of reasons why people didn't buy it
how could they tell they don't like it unless they played it

old saying " don't judge a book bye its cover"

samething like some of you guys, you played h4 a couple of times in SINGLE which sucks i mite add but not multi player

you guys that say h4 sucks you come to gamespy and make lord and see what you think after that

You might be right, I never tried multiplayer H4. Also these kind of arguments are somewhat pointless.

I remember in my childhood having wild arguments on whether the C64 or the Spectrum has better base code same thing.

H4 sold only coz of the excellence of H3 and the expectations that H4 would be a better version of H3....

lets hope Ubi can produce a hybrid of both and freakin soon
