Question about Gloria Contest to DragonSister
Hi DS,
I was wondering what MapHaven's policy is about posting maps submitted to the contest? Are you going to post the entries before or after the contest is judged? Can we request that our map not be posted until after the contest is over? The reason I ask is that a map I'm finishing for the contest may not be exactly the way I want it to be for the general public, and I'm running out of time to do it just right for the latter. Thanks.

Another question
I have what may be a stupid question, and maybe you or someone else here can help me, GhostWriter.
I'd like to submit a map to the Gloria contest, but would greatly prefer for it to be a campaign. Does this contest allow campaign maps, instead of single scenarios? I don't see any rule to that effect, but I would rather be sure.
So far my limited experience making Heroes4 maps has really driven home how nice it is to split things into smaller scenarios. For larger maps, I've seen the game get really bogged down in AI turns and some of the higher quality player made maps seem to suffer from a script-induced lag.
Thanks in advance!

I had someone else ask about submitting a campaign, and they talked me into it.
Keep the total area of all the maps in the campaign *right* down. Three small maps is OK. Three large ones is too big. If you were to pack all the terrain from all the maps into one, that one should be XL single layer ... do you follow?
Sorry, I haven't been reading forums much lately.

If you want to see and download maps that are submitted follow the URL : http://heroes.mycomport.com/cgi-bin/opt/MapHaven/view_competition.cgi?COMPETITION_ID=3
As far as I know there is a special comitee to judge, but all peoples can cast "popularity vote" or something....

Pitsu is exactly right on both counts; the maps can be downloaded from the URL he gave, and whoever plays at least three of the maps can vote for their favourite during the judging period (and come back and change their vote if they like a fourth map better!) - the map that recieves most votes will get the "Hero's Crown" prize.
I am actually looking for official judges at the moment.
