Heroes5 & ToH
Someday Homm5 will come out. What will happen then? Will ToH get its old glory back?
The age of Homm3 and the glory of the early ToH (seasons 1-4) is long gone. ToH is in a decline. What caused this? Outplaying the game (homm3), ambitious players, cheaters..... Then Homm4 came out, with a certain amount of disappointment-if I might add. (disclaimer: I mean not to start a h4 sux, no it is better discussion. Whether homm4 is good or not, it obviously did not create the impact we expected; nor did it became as popular as homm3 whatever the reasons are. end)
During all of these ToH (our precioussss  ) faded away. I dont know (or do not care) how many games we stil get per day (homm3+4). It does not change the fact that I have more fingers on my body than active homm3-ToH players, and (with a wild and flaming guess) more fingers in my two hands than homm4 players. And nothing can be done to change this at the moment. All we can do is to wait for the homm5.
The question is will homm5 bring back the long missed days? Even though I want to answer this question as "yes" I have some doubts. Why? Because as well as homm3 and homm4, I think ToH itself has been outplayed too. Sooo, what I mean to say is that ToH needs a break. We all need to get away from ToH for a while. Therefore, IMHO, a close-down for ... 1 month or 2 moths? -(not now of course) would do good. When we get a release date for homm5; close ToH 1-2-3 months before release. And launch it with or after the release. There was no ToH when we played homm2. Let there be no ToH when we play homm5. Then put it back into our lives, like www.simyar.com did years ago. Let people get away from ToH. Make them/us miss it !!!!
Now, I have a winter sleep I have to attend to.
PS: one last question: what will happen to KittenAngel -the administrator of all times- when homm5 comes out?

h3 toh i agree is dead, but you are exaggerating badly about h4 toh. many days we have 25-30 people on gamespy. Whenever I log on to gamespy, there is always someone from TOH to play.

yes why are you posting this on homm4 ToH board haha. I'm still here, and interacting with the homm4 community on a daily basis. ToH dies if I leave it, and I dont plan on it either.
Actually I have a lot planned for homm5, still 2 years away but let me put it this way, I will be having a dedicated server just like battle.net or zone with a user-friendly interface for gaming. Beyond that, a new look, a custom professional artist to do paintings (which then gets converted by me to the cover pages etc), refined clans, and so on so forth...
But for now sit quietly and watch the progress of the game, and hope they do not blunder.
Fabrice: Use players like Zud as playtesters when the time comes!!!

martigan didnt want to compare h3 and h4 but honestly i remember in season 4 in zone we have 150 players in a standart day, 15-20 now in zone...
btw mr. fabrice ima volonteer too ..

In order to make a decent review of a game, first, he MUST know all the previous versions,all the details, to figure out what has been improved , what's new and what else can be appropriate to be implemented.
There are some willing people who raised their voices wanting to test something (even if they have no clue about the way things developed) , fact that is almost similar , in their cases of course, to the following situation:
Current year 1989 -- "for the time being ,i'm using MS-DOS 1.0 as O/S, but i defineteley want to try Windows 2000 to see is it's good or not , be sure my opinions are very solid !"

Hint : if you press G in combat screen the grid will show up (i'm talking about heroes 4 of course, do not be confused that is some kind of riddle)
