Can someone advise me about HOMM4 map terrains?

I am more of a mapmaker than a player and I am trying to create many maps. However, I feel that I do not know well of the terrains. For the game does not come with a map editor manual, I find it difficult to find it myself as I have not used all the terrains and the only game I managed was a multiplay with my cousin who is not good at all at HOMM.

What exactly is your question?

If you want to know what the various terrains look like, create a small map and paint each type in a different area and see how they blend.  The only really important things are when it comes to water and swamps.  Deep and shallow water have to be on a level surface, no hills.  But they can be elevated.  Swamp has to be level, and on the lowest (the original) elevation for a map.  Armies can cross rivers if they are one tile wide, but not two or more.

I think she's/he's (don't know who you are) asks about what are the different terrain costs or which creatures are native to different terrains.

I can explain smth:

GRASS: Native to Life, Nature.
ROUGH: Native to Might
SWAMP,VOLCANIC: Native to Chaos
SNOW: Native to Order

Dunno what is native to Death. I think that's what she's/he's trying to find out.

If I'm true, you can find out more facts about the terrain by just painting map with different terrain patches, adding a hero, and creating a map like this. Then in-game, allow cheat that allows to move around the map without ending turn. Just click on the terrain patch to see what is its use. That's all I want to say. I hope you're trying to find out something from my post here. I would be very pleased and happy, because I could aid you.

Anyway,

Your Welcome.

Not quite:

Might - Rough
Chaos - Swamp
Death - Volcanic
Life - Grass
Nature - Grass
Order - Snow
