Three players
Is it allowed within the rules of ToH? Players A, B and C get 1.place , 2nd and 3rd. Is it sufficient that A reports victory over B, B reports victory over C, and C reports loss to A?

NO!
A reports Win agasint C
C reports Loss agasint A
And B does nothing.
Basically always remember, that no player can win or lose more than 1 time for 1 game.

actually in a 3 player game, it is reported as:
1st place reports win to 3rd place
3rd place reports loss to 1st place
2nd place does not report at all.

But then player B will not get registered that he has played a game at all.
Can there be more players than three as well? And what about team play (or is that later in clans and tournaments)?

for team play , 2vs2,
a reports to x
and
b reports to y,
depends on the rankings points or the way they agreed before the game, so that means only 1 report /each player.
There is no other way if you have in mind a quicker ascension in ranks than normal .just work hard
have a nice day
