Hi, I have an armageddon blade and i also downloaded AB + SOD together. (is it called complete?) When i downloaded gamespy i could only get into the AB version lobby and its always empty. While I found thaton the supported games list it would say that 10 players are logged on at a time at regular Heroes 3 arena which I dont know how to get into.
Also Im not a fan of gamespy. Is there a way to find people to play with without it? (my msn is mopkobka@gmail.com *HINT*). Ive played this game for 8 years and while I did not play many online games I consider myself pretty good.

I cannot guarante that is the same as I don't know the "original" source but it will repair/write settings for Homm3 into your registry. Should fix mp too.

midoent i cant say im sure because i havent played heroes 3 much but i believe you may need to install an addon called Wake of the gods which most people play with and then probably install the patches for it (im not sure if this will help but at least you can have fun with the addon)
you can download it here:

I'm having the same problem MadTricks. I opened the ports per the instuctions in this thread and still can't host. Using DMZ is the only way we can play

Hi All,
I have a similar problem as Madtricks. My friends and I have installed Hamachi on our computers. We can all ping and chat to each other. When we get into the multiplayer section of the game one of us hosts the game and we can all see that person's hosted game. We click 'join game' but we receive an error saying 'an error occured trying to connect to this session'. We have tried finding an ip address (using the Hamachi ip address) inside Heroes but it always comes back as 'ip not found'.
We all were running Hamachi version 1.0.2.3 but have since switched to version 1.0.1.5 as the website's forum told us that this version seems to be more reliable for older games. With either version, the problem persists.
Unfortunately we can't all switch to DMZ mode because some of us are behind routers which we do not have access to. Hamachi seems to be our only help.
We are all running heroes complete. I have been trying to solve this problem for months by reading this forum and the hamachi forum but I am still stumped.
Thanks.

I discovered something new here, it's a bug
when you're playing the custom game "DRAGON ORB", and if you choose your color as blue (you start with a tower town), after you complete the black market (i mean the place you trade artifacts) you click on sell artifacts, about 2 seconds there'll be a message appearing about the problem of the game you'll have to close the window.
anybody had this happened before?

Port forwarding weirdness
Here's the thing:
my computer sits in DMZ (I access internet via a router). My opponent's computer is connected directly to his cable modem (effectively being in DMZ) in a town 50 miles away from me. Both run WinXP Pro and HoMM3 Complete (exe version 4.0.0.0). My opponent hosts the session and everything works fine.
Now, I take my computer out of DMZ and put it behind the router, but forward ports 2300 to 2400 TCP & UDP, 28800 to 29100 TCP & UDP as Angelito instructs us. I do not forward 47624 TCP & UDP as later posts seem to suggest. When I try to connect to the game my opponent is hosting (TCP/IP) I get "invalid IP address" message.
I'm VERY positive that there are no other differences between the two setups, that the IPs don't change when I go from one setup to the other, that the port forwarding is set correctly (I also run a web-server and has successfully set up port forwarding for it as well). What else could it be? Do I need to forward port 47624?
One other question: anyone out here is running HoMM3 Complete under Ubuntu Linux? Playing over the net with this setup? I'm thinking of making my home Windows-free

Port forwarding weirdness, 2
Quote: @ DaKiller

No, that's not a problem. I used the correct "external" IP (the dyndns.com tool was used to determine what it was). Also, the SAME IP was used in the DMZ setup, and it worked there ... It's gotta be either
1) port forwarding did not work (router misbehaved)
OR
2) I need to open more / other ports.
Just to elaborate on my port forwarding setup -- in the router's port forwarding section I have:
Any -> 2300- 2400 forwarded to 192.168.1.3:same_port (TCP & UDP)
Any -> 28800-29100 forwarded to 192.168.1.3:same_port (TCP & UDP)
(192.168.1.3 is internal static IP of my gaming machine)
I also have Any -> 4321 forwarded to 192.168.1.3:4321 (my web-server is running on that port) and it works, b/c outside world does get my web-pages served ... so I tend to think the problem is in 2) rather than in 1) ... but with Verizon supplied router (Actiontec) you never know ..
