I heard of several problems refering to the newest version of hamachi. There seem to be some unsolved bugs present.
Please try to remove your current hamachi version and download the version 1.0.1.5 (both, you and your friend) and then try to connect again. Here is a server with all known hamachi versions so far: Hamachi
While you try to play through hamachi, any work on ports/firewalls is not needed. Hamachi creates a virtual LAN, where ports aren't affected at all.

Well we tried and its still a no go. I guess we just have to give up and keep playing HOMM4 (which is snow compared HOMM3!)

Try to enter gamespy lobby of H3 and search for me there.
Maybe we find the problem if I try to connect to each of you separate. This way we probably find out who of you both is the "no go guy"..

Yes...saw you there. But when I contacted you, you have been away...and I went away then again...lol...and so on..
Just try again...today or tomorrow. Just watch out the time. I am GMT +1.

okay i dunno if u can help on the forum...
But whenever i join a game on GS it says:
"Your version #3.5 is incompatible with the hosts version #4.0"
Whats up with that?

It means that you will have to update to the same version as their's (which is version 4.0).

since the use 4.0 there MUST be 4.0 patch somewhere... even "COMPLETE"

If your version is 3.5, you have "Wake of Gods", and not Heroes Complete. Heroes Complete is an own version (4.0), including all offical H3 add ons (Armageddon's Blade (2.2) + Shadow of Death(3.2)) and the original H3 (Restoration of Erathia (1.4)), while Wake of Gods is an own version created by russian (?) players / private persons, based on Shadow of Death. (latest versions in brackets)

o_O ....... I just bought the box here (http://www.billigespil.dk/shop/heroes-of-might-2249p.html), installed, and tried to play oO.
I didn't download anything for HOMM3, neither did my friend :x..
I guess we will find the game somewhere online and download

either you or your opponent has version 3.1 that is not compatible with version 4.0. Read first post of this thread about versions

Hamachi
I have a weird and period-summoning issue with Hamachi, trying to play HOMM3 complete over it. Ive read in here that Hamachi doesn't pay attention to firewalls or ports, so Ive given up trying to open those. Here's the deal though:
When my friend hosts a game over hamachi, I enter his hamachi IP and viola! Game found and we play. However, when I host, he cannot find it. Also, another friend of mine can't host games that I see, nor she can't find mine, and she neither could find my 1st friend's game, although I can. Any ideas on how to solve this? I have never been able to host any online games, but found other's. Always used Hamachi. What does this prob sound like? Most grateful to any answer or guideline!!

Yes and yes. At least Heroes and Hamachi is in the 'exceptions' list. Still that hilarious message "Error connecting to session" shows up. Or in my case it seems their machines can't even find my games at all. And we all have same version of heroes and hamachi.

I did something with my network connections list, so to say "moved hamachi to be 1st in list" and it had a minor effect: now the person whom I haven't been able to play with's game show up in the "games list" however when I try to connect, I still get that message which I know by heart by now. And people still can't find games hosted by me.
edit: aaaah, I'm gonna try with 1.0.1.5 this afternoon when people I know get online!
