You have original version or a copy/downloaded one? If it is the latter, patch works on all files BUT the exe file.

I gave my original to someone, but I copied it before that.
I also gave one copy to a friend of mine.
Yesterday, we tried to play a game through Hamachi (1.0.3.0), but it was working for only one or two turns, then I got a system message that he left the game. Maybe it was firewall?
He also has 3.0 version. Can we play a game with 3.0 version SOD, using Hamachi 1.0.1.5, without patching?
I also downloaded Gameranger, but it notified me I am not going to be able to play, because I need to open ports. I use ADSL with modem+wireless router.
My friend uses ADSL with modem only. What would be the best solution to play online?
I saw a lot of people on Gamespy with 4.0 (complete). How can I upgrade?

Hey hey! .. Me and my friend have sat and played Heroes 3, the last few days and we work together. But we do not know how to create teams!? So, be a time through a port, we need to remove our men .. And we are with the same computer ) Thanks

thats easy, Sagnora, (this is just my thoughts) xD
just edit a map, in the map options you can set the teams by colours, then in game chose the certain colours, this should do, wish you luck with the game and i hope i helped

Multiplayer host
I thought if we can get other updates or something, I have been out and buy complete, together with a friend. However, we have some problems! First and foremost, it has something to say one has Vista and other XP? - I am the host of the game when I have work over time with little computer right now do I use my own ip-Ares, I can see that people have to use port forwards ip, but I want to go if you are entering and edit some ports, or if you just run straight and hard!

Strange problem...
ok, here is the deal. My friend and i started a hot seat game last night but we didn't finish it... so then we realized we shall finish it online... so we loaded the game and everything worked perfectly for next 6 hours or so... and today when we wanted to start a new game we keep getting disconnected from the game that we start... (we are both using the same version of heroes, same version of hamachi, same port forwards.. everything). it just stopped working by itself.. so bottom line is that we can see the game(connect and start) but after about 2 minutes in game i get the message that my friend left the game(allthough he is still on ventrilo thus our connections are fine). Please help. Thanks in advance

The game keeps on crashing whenever i play with the music on, i can't seem to do anything to make it stop. Any help?

Gonna play Heroes 3 with my friends but..
Well this friday we're going to game veryyyy much but, ofc we want to use different pc'es, but I have never tried this before. So I really need your help. I have tried going online on Heroes but I don't get it to work.
I have to download something from gamespot or something like that. So I am going to try connecting everyone to my router or with wlancables, but I don't know if this will work. I guess the online gaming maybe don't work in my country but how can I know. ( I live in norway for those who care )
So guys, please help me

1. your OS (operating system) is messed up and needs reinstall
2. your net connection is messed up and needs to be reconfigured)
the problem is in YOU, because i have played with two mates without a problem, thousands of times ;] , not in the method, so if you have poblems, do one of the following
p.s. everybody has to know how to reinstall their OS (either Linux, Windows or MAC) its like playing Dices

How exactly do you play Dices? : )
In network connections (from the control panel) under the advanced tab, there is a drop-down menu. Choose advanced settings and make your hamachi the first network item, this solves some games being invincible until searched by IP performed using heroes 3.

However, my mate cant join my games, it looks like this.

I played online heroes on my old computer with original CDes now i bought new computer and when i go on multiplayer and on tcp/ip when i clik host or join heroes not responding i tryed to shut down firewall its not him my version is 4.0 and i play over the hamachi...

HOMM 3 WOG over hamachi
Hello evry1 i see lots of posts for homm3 and rest but did any1 try playing wog over hamachi network?
If u did and u succeded can you please post an easy way step by step manual how you did it exactly.
for example do i need port forwarding if using hamachi.Does my hamachi IP has to be like my comp IP?What IP i type in when i create hasmachi based tcp/ip connection hamachi or computer and rest.
If some1 can help me it would be nice!

playing with my friends using tcp/ip i cannot be host because my ip adress is not found by the other (ip does not exist as they tell me)
i found my ip adress on net using 2 dif sites to confirm
I am joining and the game is ok
Help please

Try Gameranger instead of hamachi. No forwarding or triggering needed.

Error Sending Data Keep Trying . . .
Hey,
I'm playing alot lately with a friend.
We play Jebus template and XL+U maps,
Sometimes we play and all goes fine,
And sometimes we play and at the end of the game (month 2 or 3)
Appears an error ("error sending data keep trying").
Sometimes after 3-4 of typing V, it release the error,
But usually the game is stuck and we can't continue.
Does anybody have an idea why this is happening.
It's totally random whether it happens or not.
I will be happy to hear your advice,
