I'm trying to use GameRanger, but the only game I can connect to is with my friend, and I end up crashing 5-10 minutes later.
I also can't connect with anyone else..it starts up Heroes, but freezes and goes back to the GameRanger room.
Ah! This shouldn't be so difficult..

i'm having the same prob.
1)don't enter the room if the game started..the green balloon
2)don't abuse the town trick  that crashes the game
follow this and u should be fine

Hello guys,
I started, again, to play Heroes 3 recently. Managed to get Heroes 3 Complete, installed Hamachi, and I got a problem.
When I play in multiplayer, with more then two AI's, game freezes on "End Turn" during some AI turn (it says "error sending data")or when AI attacks one of human players.
Sometimes simple autosave reload helps, but most of the time it freezes always on same point, during last AI play before human player turn.
Both of us have same version of game, map is unmodified (we played map called "Monk's Retreat" entire day without freezes, and today is freezing every 4-5 "End Turns").
Anyone knows what might be a problem?

I need help as well.  I tried evertyhing but nothing seems to work.
I tried joining with TCP/IP. I tried both ips ( the one given from the game and my actual one which was found from the site give on the topic) but it didn't manage to connect.
I tried through Gamespy. I got the error 5 but it was fixed as stated in the topic. Then I got error 6. I tried everything. I closed my Anitvirues, turned off firewall after even having both the game and the Gamespy arcade on the exceptions list, turned of also the router's firewall but still message insists. When I want to create a game I gives me a message:
"Proxy or Firewall Detected.
GameSpy Arcade has detected that your computer's internal IP address is different than its external IP address. This may be caused by firewalls, a NAT proxies, or other unusual network configurations and may prevent you from hosting a game. Please see our Firewall Guide for further information. You can access it by choosing "Help with GameSpy Arcade" from the Help menu."
What else could I do?

You try to get an opponent and tell him you wanna play for WCL. If you both agree, you pre report your game on WCL site and after the game you report and/or confirm. Then your personal statistic page on WCL has its first entry

there is general rating which changes when you report games and there are tournaments. However, currently it's hard to manage tornaments so most games are for general rating.

Dose anyone play on hamachi ? if you do and know the name of a good room with people who play pleas tell me. I need people with whom to play. I cant seam to get my router to work properly so i need partners who play via hamachi. Hope to hear from you soon ...

Hey guys.
So I'm new, and have no intention of sticking around, but I need a bit of help.
Me and a friend want to play online together. I have the basic version (you guys call it vanilla here?) and he has the gold version.
If that isn't a problem...
We tried on TCP/IP, I got my real ip adress and he did too, but we got nothing when we tried to connect. Um.., any obvious errors here?

Okay maybe someone here can help with this...
I have tried both connecting and hosting games via TCP/IP. Using the REAL ip address.
Everytime both me and the other person gets "IP address not found".
We then tried hamachi, and using the hamachi IP listed. Same thing.
Any ideas?

try Gameranger.com, it will eliminate many connection problems.
if problem will still exist, then check settings of your anti-virus and firewall

Hi,
GR has been working no problem for me until yesterday, now anytime i try to play, i get this meaassage: "<< DirectPlay in game failed to initialise >>". Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

Hello!
I just reinstalled homm3 and now i would like to play with my brother and som irl friends over internet. I have tried to set up the ports to the best of my knowledge and also tried gamespy, hamachi and so on. But noting seems to work I have a netgear rp614v4 router and I think that the router is the problem so I must have made something wrong. Anyone who could care to give me instructions so that even an idiot could follow them? since I dont seem to be able to solve it on my own :S

I have the following problem playing with my brother via TCP/IP connection (both computers are connected using a cross-over cable). It occurs when he attacks me, but I win the battle and gain some level-ups. The new secondary skills I choose get messed up...

Is there a way to fix this bug? It doesn't matter when it's the final battle, but after a middle-game battle it would be very annoying...

I'm playing Heroes 3 Wog using router with my friend and a message occured saying something like "There was an error trying to connect to this session....". I can see his host but i can't join. I tried everything as u tell from the 1st page but it didn't work either,from port forwarding to Hamachi. I can only see his host but i can't join. Does your solution work for Wog version also ?

HoMM III Complete [Mac OSX] (Ran via CrossOver Games)
I seem to have a problem with my HoMM playing online. I'm not able to press on any of the online options within my game without it quitting. Could some please help me with a few problems, but first I'll list all my specs.
I'm using an iMac running OSX 10.6.4, I play Heroes via CrossOver Games (v. 8.1.3). The game is downloaded and ran through the above program. ^^
Can someone please explain a different way to run HoMM III on my Mac, whether it's a link to a website to purchase an actual Mac version, or how to fix this problem.
Please aid this post. All help and offers is appreciated. Please reply to my e-mail.
