Barbarian Breakout

I'm not completely new to Homm, I am playing the original III but am ordering the upgrades.

I am not quite as involved as some of you, but it's fun to play when the weather is bad or I am really bored.

I tried the map Barbarian Breakout and am just doing the normal difficulty (100%) and by month three I'm toasted.

Could anyone give me a few tips to try and win this one?
I usually let the computer do random; but I may want to change what I can to my advantage.

Beside deciding on my castle and hereo, how about the choice you get between gold/art/resource.  I one more advantagious than the other?

Thanks for any help

I get decimated.  The portal is guarded by 8 Naga Queens spread in to groups of 2, and the lower level entrance had an army just as bad.  I have gone through the Naga Queens (just about killed the entire army), got the castle to have it ripped from me with a enemy Hero with +10 attack and then they just come up and take everything since I don't have much of an army left.  I even had a hero with decent Diplomacy and was able to get some of the wandering armies to join, but I can't seem to get big enough, fast enough.

And the two big artifacts; one wants quite a bit of money (2500 plus some resource) for an artifact with +3 attack and the other is guarded by lots of imps (which ever creature throws fire balls) that are spread out in groups of 3; can't remember which artifact that was off hand.

This is the first scenario I haven't been able to do so far.  I haven't done any of the campaigns  - no time.

Thanks.

Ok, so first of all... what town are you playing ? Stronghold ?

If it is stronghold, you should NOT have any problems killing nagas... learn mass slow.

Also, with stronghold and with ANY town, on normal difficulty, you should go for creature and castle(or some variant of this) on the 1st week, then to make it easy, build ur capitol as early as possible in week 2 and by the end of week 2 make sure you have ALL your creature dwellings built. Once that is done u can really afford to buy creatures.... but don't forget that chests are there for gold in 99%(actually its 89 or 94 since there is 5 or 10% chance to find an art) of the cases.

You must learn your own power and use it wisely.

I just beat Barbarian Breakout on Expert (160%). My advice is to hard-creep like your life depends on it. Get Shiva and two other heroes, build rocs exclusively (you don't need anything else if you control them well), get haste and shield, and conquer all creeps on your part of the map by the end of the first week. During week2, build up all your units. At the sub gate, bust through and try to take his castle when he's not looking or draw him out, preferably on day7 or 1. DO NOT try to seige him. After you take that first town, it should be cake.

For that map, don't go Capitol. You will be destroyed if you wait too long (hence Barbarian Breakout). Use that gold instead on units which will be used to conquer that first town. Once you conquer that town, you'll get 4000g a day anyways and you can upgrade to 6000 easily. DO NOT go Behemoth on that map. It might be possible on Normal, but on Expert you will run out of money. Save it all for Rocs, Raiders, and Orcs. Your Rocs will be sick if you can get Shiva to lvl10 (with like 12Attack) by the time you reach the first town.

breakout

I rhink the key in this campaign is the seccond scrnario
try to hire and train as nuch as possible
you need logistic and path finding and spend much money to train your heroat least 4 to level 12 and the rest to level 8 or more  spend money in market  always leave the enemy one castleand leave them to take the other back .

thirrd part get creature dweling as fast as possible and amas goblin for free and dbuy the orc
go out from north and take the other stronghold
scout and take all treasure as cash .if the blue got out atack blue fortress if not atack  castle just for the spell you maay get 4 level spell like tp
BTW  there are some ambush in pass on north
as i rember the worst problem in the third parts was lumber and ore in begining

____________
air on top
dark on right
light on left
water inside
fire around
no botom

I just couldn't conquer all creeps: THE FOURTH DAY!

And his army:

He has got magic and resources at right.
The second creep gathers resources from the upper area now. And the second turn first Behemots will arrive

Because 8 treasure chests x 2000 which he has just near his castle.
I have tried different strategies and the luckiest was with Shakti and troglodites. When I had 2 castles but he has got all and there's no resources and race race race
