I do best with protoss only because I live longer, since I am able to build fields of photon cannons in practically no time at all.

Well I seem to have become much better at playing the Zerg. However in my last game I played against terran and they made a bunch of Valkery or whatever it's called to take out my mutalisks and then came in with Battlecruisers and blew up my main command center. But like I don't know any um... rules of thumb for playing RTS games... I'm the worst ever at them, unless I know a set formula for winning.

With Zerg I learned to do the following formula. Build a bunch of drones, get spawning pool. Then get a second hatchery. Then get more drones, while you build a few zerglings, sunkens, extractor, then you upgrade your carapace and then get hyrdralisks, then rush. If your opponent is terran you send out a couple drone after them and blow up their SCV while they are trying to build their barracks. If you can do this successfully, you will be able to rush terran like it's nothin. A few early zerglings will be enough trouble and then a rush of hydralisks and zerglings will be the end.

However I usually opt after that to go with mass mutalisks. I can usually burrow a few guys near their base and so I know what units they have if they are too stupid to have lots of detectors nearby. Then I build and rush again. The problem with the zerg at least with what I find is that they are horrible at penetrating defenses. Especially a terran defense. Terran units have the best range. I guess my main problem is coordinating an attack or defending an attack. My problem is macro and being able to respond to what happens. I do fine at turn-based games. It's just responding to what is happening.

To be honest my strategy is to just put a snowload of units near my opponents and then let them attack. I don't really have any strategy... I'm the worst possible player at RTS games. I'm more of a turn-based type player.

Sox, the way you get better is just to play it a lot of times, watch replays, and ask pros for help. A lot of not-dumbassed pros will be glad to help, i would if i hadn't become a newb to starcraft =) .. Micro = Practice, Strategy = Talking to other people. You can makes strats just by yourself, but it never really works totally.

Example: Terran Vessel + 5 ghosts + Misc = Own vs protos.

Vessels takes away their energy, ghosts "stops" their strong units, and the army is just to pin down those units without energy.

I usually play zerg and they don't really have any good abilities like that to manipulate.

Use queens broodling against siege tanks, use defilier(dark cloud)+zergling combo againts marines and bunkers, use mutas to wreck havock all around the map, if he has valkiries than spred them out, valk are only good if you put all your units close to each other, use lurkers for deffence. I am a protos player so thats all the help i can give you for the zerg.

real deal's advice won't work if the zealot count is plenty. in which case yr misc better be armored-up bats, and lots of them w/ less marines supporting. honestly tho, terran-drop tactix takes so much intelligence/experience/concentration you might as well forget about it.

          intermediate drop:

   ]=)          ]=)          ]=)                *
tank/ghost  marine/ghost   marine/fbat        (target)

fly in, in that order, and above all- don't drop at the same exact spot!!! target it, then as they fly over, and the first drops, release the second, then third; if the opposition is that scary work the locks before sieging, but if not siege first. cloak/nuke should be played by ear, including immediately
