splitting Haven...

Well, you may remember me mentioning (some of you, members) about having two towns splitted in h5. And yes, i am talking about Haven (h4).

I'd like to expand this discussion, as I am looking forward to reviving this forum from its life-long sleep

Please - whatever member browses this thread (which knows some bits and bobs about the upcoming game h5 - visit this thread and consider about the membership in Guild of Altar (in order to improve the board and heat some new fresh discussions about HMM5).

Haven being splitted...?!

So, for the start I wanna talk about why did I think about such thing )of splitting one of the "weakest" IMO town in h4. If Haven was transferred to h5, I'd like to see it truly working on its name "HAVEN" which is "sanctum" (a holy place) in latin.

What differences should there be...?!

Units should vary from the simplest acolytes (and other churches' and holy places' inhabitants) to divine units, such as Angels, Seraphims, crusaders...

The town-screen should be represented with a mountainy background, covered with trees, loads of buildings, each separate (at least some), and an immense church (or an altar) in the middle.

the magic would be called DIVINE and for the best, I think, would be the magic system (with a few corrections and additions) of Life town in h4.

as for the heroes, the priest and the warden (i simply like this word ) would be fit... most priests would have the starting skills of DIVINE magic and some - of the neighboring towns' magic schools (eg.: academy's, castle's). wardens would be skilled at re-created "combat" or the "archery" which I thought of not long ago.

and... what is with the castle then?

i dunno... but i still would like to call it life town, even though I'd like to mix order town with it a bit (since i want order town to be an elemental one). most units would be humans, but there could also be something like a mage or a naga...

units would vary from peasants and henchmen to colossuses and champions. I'd like to see a few animals returned too (griffins or pegasuses).

the town-screen - flat land (almost plains) with trees (sounds illogical, but still) and with a beautiful ocean or sea-view on the farthest background (SHIPYARD!!!). most buildings should reside next to each other, not scattered, but some should be aside of the others (not too close).

the magic would be... dunno what to call... maybe medieval or smth like that... a mixture of heals, curses and most of all - ORDER spells from h4 (i already said i want order town to have elemental magic ).

it would suit me if I saw good ol' knight at my service and maybe a mage/scribe/monk for the spells... as i said the magic hero would use the dunno-how-to-call magic and the knight would use leadership *also edited*.


that's my op... I will soon post my own ideas for these towns and even post more about such division of the town.

Nice to see anyone posts here. That is good.

As for the idea, my scepticism would kill it right away.
I understand the nature of the division perfectly, but I dont think its alignmental at all (as it should be), but creature race specific, which is a form of homm racism.
I think they complement each other just fine the way it is now. the human and the divine creats, i mean.
still, postitive thinking.

well, it's alright if they are together, but there are some things that have to be changed with the h4 town:

a) if division is made, there would be more features implemented into the game (yay!)

b) division would be a good cause for different things such as terrain and stuff, and especially TACTICS!

c) it also would bring us a completely re-newed storyline (don't forget it should continue from the original homm4 one)

in that case, the town separation would bring us a lot of new adventures (when examining or playing the game).

however, IMO you shouldn't be so sceptic about my idea too, even though you disagree with me.

I agree that there wouldn't be MUCH difference, but it would be a lot more fun.

BTW, do you want to join Guild of Altar and be a member of it?
