Another newbie, another tech question!

Hi everyone, sorry if this is going over old ground.

I have been a standalone HOMM3 & AB player for many years and have managed to tackle the problems of migrating to new windows packages quite successfully, until now!

Just had my PC completely reloaded with XP Pro and cannot get Heroes 3 to even load, the setup screen for the installer gets to 99% then nothing....

I know it works on XP Pro as for the last 24 months it was installed as a second partition OS on my PC.

Can anyone help?

Did u reformat your HD before installing the new Windows OS?
If not, try to delete everything u can find on your HD referring to Homm3 (first through "control panel", "Software", "delete"...).
After that, u should also try to delete all entries of Homm3 in your registry.
"Start", "execute", then type "regedit", now your registry opens (for the fact u donīt know this...)
Now search for "Heroes" and delete all entries u can find (If u have other games on your comp which have the word "Heroes" in their names, be careful not to delete this ones...).
After that, u should restart your comp and start your installation again.

Keep us informed...

Sorry for the trouble, it turns out that it was all down to the CDRW, not had any problems with it before, must need a clean or something.

Thank you for your reply.
