Help with Heroes 2

Hi, Heroes of might and magic 2 is one of my favourite games!
Yet after finding it again and buying it, I tryed to install it on my windows xp.
But as you can guess, it didn't work, does anybody know of the whereabouts of any patches that can make heroes 2 work on an xp system?
Thanks in advance

Alas, it won't even install >.<
Every time i click 'install now' my pc will stop, then reset!
I doubt many will have the answer for this, I might try it in DOS, but i don't know how to get it running on windows XP

I don't know if you can install heroes 2 on MS-DOS, but when you reset your PC, press F8 until the system indentificate the units and all this stuff, and you will go to a menu, there you can choice "only  system symbol" or something like this(sorry I have in spanish and Don't  know the exact translation)

So you think replying to a FIVE year old post will help in any way?
