my two cents...

again, a tidal wave of terror spread among the dusty buildings covering the streets of london!

there has been reported that again subway was bombed in several places. Again a wave of terror spread through this massive town of Europe.

for the first time [ july 7th ] london's streets were filled with immeasurable fear, despair and sorrow.  52 victims! 52 totally innocent people were killed, a lot more were injured during the bombing of subway stations and a bus in the metropolis of the europe.

hear he! hear he! the terror wave again spread through the london! July 21th. Afternoon. People rushing through the streets, going to their jobs, using subway and buses to get there faster. BAM! again bombings sighted in the underground of london. this time no casualties, nobody reported injured. a double-decker also reported to be bombed. nobody injured.

this time the attempts of mass terrorism failed. however, i believe that a new wave of terror will soon spread throughout.

according to CNN:

"LONDON, England (CNN) -- Two weeks to the day after the July 7 London bombings, attackers tried -- and failed -- to set off explosive devices at three Tube stations and on a double-decker bus.

Police said evidence left behind in Thursday's attempted bombings has given them what may be a "significant breakthrough" in their investigation.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair told reporters the intention of the terrorists "must have been to kill" and that some of the devices failed to explode.

Blair said investigators were analyzing forensic material found at the sites "which may be very helpful to us."

There are reports of one person wounded, although ambulance services said they did not transport anyone from the scenes.

Blair said while the near-simultaneous attacks had echoes of the ones two weeks ago that killed 52 people and the four bombers -- also on three Tube trains and a bus -- it was too early to say whether they bore the hallmarks of al Qaeda.

He stressed that the investigation was still at an early stage and cautioned against the "enormous amount of speculation" concerning the incidents.

The police chief confirmed there were four scenes -- at Oval, Warren Street and Shepherd's Bush Underground stations and on a bus in east London -- where "attempts have been made to set off explosive devices."

He told a news conference in central London: "Clearly the intention must have been to kill. You do not do this with another intention.

"I think the important thing is that the intentions of the terrorists have not been successful."

All three Tube stations were evacuated and the three affected lines -- Hammersmith & City, Victoria, and Northern -- were closed along with the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines.

Police also said they deployed armed officers to investigate an "incident" at University College Hospital, near Warren Street, where an explosive device went off aboard a train.

The central London hospital confirmed the situation there was over, although it is not clear what prompted the alert.

Witnesses reported policemen with flak jackets entered the hospital along with dogs, and said police searched a man with a red backpack and took him away, without handcuffs.

People in buildings near the hospital were not allowed to leave their offices during the incident. "

ok - this time, the people of london were alert and the terror was not widespread. however, the terror seems to be repeating and this doesn't smell good.

IMO, the fortnight between the incidents was not unplanned. it seems to be tactically planned. terrorists tried to bomb the london again, but to no response.

and again, it is possible that these never-ending attacks may repeat.

even tho i live far from this place, i sense that the terror may soon be spreading throughout the whole lot of our countries.

i do not know who should we blame, but IMO bush's decisions were equal to critical errors on computers.

no,no,no, i am not trying to offend anybody [ nor the supporters of bush ], but the most possible countries to become victims are the ones, supporting the decisions of this normally superb country's president.

the war on the eastern countries must have left its mark and the counterattacks have begun.

however, i hope this will soon be set down and everything will be the same it was few years ago...

anyway, WE SHOULD ALL BE ALERT!

the terrorism is really an immense problem these days. we should take maximum caution, nevertheless.

truly - my two cents

We are all so fragile..

Just look how easy it is for someone to strike terror in the hearts of so many.

Why are the bad things in life easy and the good things so hard!

ugh..I'm so sad now..

Some recent events linked to this discussion in some way:

A fortnight ago a bomb blew up a tourist bus in the turkish resort of Kusadasi killing 5 people.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4691755.stm

On Friday British police shot dead a Brazilian man they'd had on survielance for some time at Southwall tube station. It was later found he was unconnected with the recent terrorist acts.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4712061.stm

And the next day bomb attacks rocked the Egyptian resort of Sharm al-Sheikh.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4709491.stm

Also on Friday a politician in peacemaker's own state of Colorado declared that the best way to deal with a nuclear attack on US soil might be to Nuke Mecca. Please tell me you didn't vote for that fool PM

Thought these might make interesting discussion points.

Edit: Oh and btw, does anyone remember LydiaElf from the old days here? She works in Kusadasi at the moment and was on a bus like the one blown up an hour earlier. Fortunately she is fine

UK in trouble

It was announced in the papers here yesterday by the Metropolitan police that we here in the UK can expect more innocent deaths in the hunt for terrrists.
Now like everone else here i thought that the Brazilian was shot because he ran.
However unlees the police are expecting everyone they confront to run away then what do they mean by this statement.
I am beginning to wonder who the biggest threat is here.
We are all under attack that is clear, but by whom?
Terrorists or our own government.
I fear that we will see more cities being bombed and the same measures being taken accross the UK.
Our police could start to become more like an occupying army.
This new measure seems to have gone unprotested so far.
Anyone else see the dangers inherent here?
How much freedom are YOU prepared to give up in exchange for protection?
