Not sure where to post so I'll ask here. I'm looking for a multiplayer map, XL, 8/8 player, with underground. The special thing was that every team started with a town in the middle on the map, with the lvl 7 building build, and this is the only building you can build. So when you've conquered the map the last thing is to take all the towns in the middle, which had like 50 lvl 7 creatures at that time. I thought this map came with the game, but I can't seem to find it.
Does anyone know which map I'm talking about? Do you know it's name and where I can find it? thanks

Pol and I contemplated over whether or not we should make an archive of maps for H2 and H4 as well. We came to the conclusion that many H2 maps are gone now on the internet. And for H4, we felt not as many people played than H2 and H3. But if you can start an H2 map archive, go for it. Or an H4 one for that matter too.
AFAIK, It's still unde development, and other things have sidelined us. But if you scroll down to the bottom of the page that pops up, the links are there to take you to which map sites you want.

Yes, unfortunately that was also my conclusion and I have no old stuff in my possesion of any interest. I became interested in this game too late. I wonder if someone has the content of old maphaven resting on his drive or backup, maybe we can post an open request on a forum to upload it in one big archive. But you probably already thought about that. For H4 I have recently collected all good maps from celestial and maps4heroes and will backup them for the future, but I have no motivation/plans for putting up a website

The Polish Crypt of Maps still has lots of H2 scenarios (mostly in English).
You could also try to contact Dragon Sister by e-mail and get the MapHaven (and Astral Wizard) H2 archive, but she's been inactive for two years now.

MapHaven is (currently?) offline - that's why we were talking about alternatives. As for Astral Wizard, MapHaven used to host their map archive (more than 800 H2 scenarios).

Thanks for the replies, I found there is also still a large archive downloadable at heroesportal.net (around 290 maps) Together with the polish site and the few sites that host some small sets there are still around 400 maps available on the net (@Bytebandit: not bad for an archive I think). For me personally this is of course enough. I did also a small research on the quality, by looking at the ratings on maphaven. Fortunately almost all high rated maps were still available. (Seems not a coincidence because most (around 20) were made by Timothy Duncan). It's of course unknown how long these maps will stay available, so heroes 2 fans should better start making backups now

I ran into a strange problem with some H2 custom maps I downloaded, I have never had any problems with my gold edition under windows xp, but it refuses to load a lot of the downloaded custom maps.

If you do not mean heroesportal, please give me the link?

You don't have to sign up to Yahoo, you just have to join the group for the various map sites. I know it's a pain to sort through those letters and numbers, I hate it. But once your in, you'll have access to tons of maps and Links to the other Map Archive sites and other Hero related sites as well.
I am trying to access that site, and it tells me that I have to sign up to Yahoo before I can view the map archives.
Is there a way around that?
<-- really doesn't want to have to use a Yahoo account and everything

We have combined all the files from WoG Map Archive II with WoG Archive I. We want to make it less painful to have to register for each and every Yahoo group. All the files, maps and so on can now be found on just one site! WoG Archive I is now called WoG Archives. More changes are on the way......

Good news! I remember when I browsed every archive there were a lot of dead links and out of date programs/tools. Maybe a clean up too? I could help.
