Map Uploading... how?

How can I upload a map that I made?

I would like to share it with this community.

The administrators are still working on a web space where the members could upload all files, including zips and maps.

Meanwhile, you can submit your scenario to MapHaven (click on the link in the upper right corner of this page!) AND send it to ByteBandit's Archive!

okay.. thank you for the feedback.

I have since decided to work on my map even more. I feel as thoguh the layout is just as I'd like it, but that I need to change the look and such to make it more professional. I'll surely submit it here when I'm done (who knows when).

You might ask for testers here or in the Library.

If it's a H4 scenario, I'd love to test it myself.

If nobody here in the Library will test it and it's an HOMM3 or WoG map, somebody on the ByteBandit group sites should test it. And if you send it to the Archives and have it tested there, we, at the Archives, will take no credit whatsoever for the completion of your map. All the credits will go to you and the testers only. It's just a place for maps and people who love to play them. We will not put our name on your map, only if you want it there, then we will. Right now, we are testing a new WoG campaign. But we can find somebody to test your map if its an HOMM3 or WoG map if you can't find anyone here.

My maps are Heroes 3 (original) maps.

I've decided to work on my primary map for a much longer duration of time, but I have a small 1v1 map that I've created that is queit cool. I left my HoMM3 disc at a friends and haven't been able to test it at all..  so please let me know.

It's called  Chim's Divide and it will be submitted to maphaven if you wanna try it.

:.:Edit:.:

..wait a minute.. I can't even figure out how to submit the map at maphaven.. this could be a while. HAHa.

:.:Edit.. again:.:

can someone Zip the map file for me?  I have no idea how to. And I'd like to submit it. Just lend me an e-mail address and I'll send the map.

What you need to do, is go to the MapHaven site. The link is in the upper right hand corner of the Main site of Heroes Community. Once you get there, navigate around  and look for map submissions. There, they will give you instructions as to what you need to have when you submit your map. You'll have to fill out a text to go along with your map(s). The instructions will tell you what you need to have in your text in order for MapHaven to take your map. I hope this helps you. Good luck, and we all hope your map is fun. :-)

I already tryed all that..

At maphaven I click under Heros 3  "more" .. and I finally found a "submit map" link. There I had everything filled out and ready to submit, but once I uploaded my map it said the file HAD to be zipped. I have no clue as to how to zip a file. That is why I asked if someone who knew how could provid an e-mail address so I could send it to them.. so they could then zip it and send it back to me.

I'm sorry for being complicated, but it's an incovenience to people who do not know how to zip files. Please help by zipping it for me (or offering to test the map yourself).  [it is a heroes 3 1.0 map]

Actually, zipping is the easiest part of making a map.

Open your Total (Windows) Commander, select the files you want to zip (your map + the text file about your map), then press Alt + F5 on your keyboard, or the zip button in the upper bar, or go to File > Pack.

When you submit a map to MapHeaven, you can choose the status of your map - do you want to have it uploaded, or just tested? I understand your work is not finished yet, so you may need some testers. If nobody downloads your map and sends you a feedback, try in our Library, or send it to ByteBandit.

If you decide to upload your map, it will not appear - it has to be checked and approved by the administrator of MapHaven.

Here's an altenative way to zip your map. This is what I do. When you right click on your desktop, look for "New" and go in there and there should be a zip file selection there. Select it and it should place a zip file on your desktop. Go to it and open it. You should see an "Add" button. Select that. Then navigate through that, wherever you map is, and select your map. Then, select the text. Afterwards, rename the zip file, preferably the map name. Now you're ready to upload.
Either of these ways Vlaad and I gave you should get your map zipped.

You could re-post this message in the Library section, because few players visit this place (it's for mapmakers).
