THe Might and Magic games have to be some of my favourites, first played number 3, which i had loads of fun with, even though i was so young i had no idea what i was doing when i was playing it. If i only i could dig up a copy and have another go, all i can really remember are those floating head things that were annoying for some reason.

However, years later, a friend lent me a copy of Might and Magic VI (as well as Heroes 2 incidentally) and sparked my love of RPGs. Have since bought my own copies of and completed 6-8, although 9 was more than my patience could bear. I loved the way you could explore the landscapre for ages, find little things, and there really was a sense of a huge continent - New Sorpigal and Paradise Valley seem worlds apart to me. Classic games.

Oh, I know! Those monsters called Screamers. Yeah, I hated them when I first tried MM3. I hadn't figured out how to level up my characters back then, causing dire results when I fought those nasties. Of course, I've now discovered that it's best to take them out from a distance. You can avoid their "insanity" attack and save yourself a trip back to the temple in town. One or two Toxic Cloud spells usually does the trick.

I hope you can find your copy of the game(s).

Necro time!

Which M&M is your favourite? Do you go back to playing it sometimes? How did you cope with the lack of an automap in earlier installments? Who is a creepier stalker- me or Verriker? Did your wife take away the kids because she caught you playing a game from 1986? Thread for all stuff M&M related (per Val's command, ca. a long time ago).

My favorite parts are World of Xeen and Blood and Honor, played them several times. What usually brings me back to old games are mods (hello WoG/ERA xD), it's just so nice to play your favorite games with new content. In case of these games I recently discovered the World of Xeen Monster Spawn Mod which I had a blast playing through the game again, because it became so much more difficult (I had to edit it slightly to my taste but still).
For MM7 it was the Maestro Mod, which is also really cool.
