Rumors arent come when in tavern..HOMM3
hello, im new here!
I had a question about the rumors that you can customize in the editor. Because when you make the rumors you wont see them directly in the tavern if you are visit it. Does this mean you have to have many rumors else the chance of seeing the rumor is very rare??
And btw, is there someone who can tell me the best made map of the Heroes of might and magic 3? and then i mean just erathia not any other expansion. Because i don't have any other.. its just useful information i think 
Creating maps is sometimes very hard, i have seen the standard beautiful maps, they we're sure that one with the dragon they made in the map itself very creative!
..Is it true that you can randomly spawn units aroound the map, with the random generation at the random town?

Tavern Rumors... How do they really work?
I have post yesterday this topic. Today i havent seen any answers, is it because you wont want to answer new forumers?? please, tell me how you have to make rumors been available when you visit the tavern. So that means that if i enter it will have absolute one of the rumors that i have programmed in the editor.. Can you tell me..?

On the ByteBandit Map Archives, we have maps for RoE, AB and SoD. There are 6 Archives containing maps for these games. To look for the RoE maps, you will have to go to the Database section of each group, and there, you will find the map Indexes. A search engine is in the upper left of each map index. Type in RoE, and all RoE maps will appear for you to choose from, from each Archive. Happy map hunting!

@byte bandit:I apreciate your effort in gathering this great H3 maps collection but...I don't apreciate your {too} agressive promovation politics.I"m refering especially to the update mails for the group members.(most of them conatain no real update) and even here in HC you use every chance to "direct" people's attention towards your site.Instead of going off-topic in every thread u can think of, i would recomend e-mailing the HC admin, Val asking him if it's possible to insert a link to your site on the upper right of the main page(where the links to map heaven, age of heroes and ToH are)
just my two cents about that
@wood ranger: as far as i know this file containing the tavern rumors must be extracted froma bigger file having the extention *.lod.to be honest i don't know how this is possible, but i suggest presenting this issue to the guys in the WOG team as they are more skilled in adding new scripts to the game. Maybe fnord or vlaad can help you with this one.Gl and wellcome to HC !

I must disagree with you here; Steve's hard work deserves all the promotion it can get. In addition, he's not going off topic here - the first poster has asked about RoE maps. 
If someone is off topic, it's you and me. 
By the way, this section of the forum has been dead for a long time, and I'd welcome ANY activity.

i just bolded the words i wanted to strss on my post
i can understand the site needs promovation, that's why i suggested the solution with the link. i just think the way they decided to promote it is a bit too agressive to my taste.that's all

I'll tone it down a bit.
But you must keep in mind we offer maps that can't be found online anymore and maps not available anywhere else and all we are doing is spreading the word that we have those "hard to find" maps. No disrespect being shown here.
And we do have the link to HC on just about every group site btw. People who normally do not visit this forum are doing so via our group sites.
If it seems that we're being aggressive, this was not our intent.
And how would one contact Valeriy to post on the site?

well i hope when Angelito sees this he will bring the issue up to the modsquad, in case val doesn't notice it himself in the meantime.To me linking your map collection to the main page of HC is a good ideea for the same reason u said it is.Because you have a collection fo maps that can't be found anywhere else on the internet. As far as i know you are the only ones that give young mapmakers a chance.
As a personal thought i think you guys should cooperate on a regular basis with both HC and the major tournament organisers(ToH,WW and the oracle league).the main reason for this is that these sites could greatly contribue to the spreading of your popularity, especially concearning the multiplayer maps.People tend to play only a handful of maps online and this could be easily turned into a tourney of fixed maps only,maps that no one knows by heart, maps that are played "blind" as players say.you have the posibility of providing such maps to these tourney organisers and they can help a great deal in spreading the word about your site and its facilities.
IMHO this is a much more elegant way to contribue to your image campaign that those used before.
just my 2 cents there.
@vlaad: To get this thread back on topic: can u help this guy with the tavern rumours?

Sadly, all sites upload 99% of the maps submitted. Thus most of the stuff is of poor quality; fortunately, there are map ratings and comments...

To Vlaad:
We screen our maps before they are submitted. :-)
No need to worry about trash maps. Pol has been coming up with a rating system of some type, but I believe it's better for the individual to rate a map he/she likes. As an example, one of my favorite maps is called Ad Hominen. It's not rated and there are no comments on it, yet it is one of my personal favorites. I liked it better than some highly rated map I tried to play. So, to me, it's a personal choice rather than that of the masses. We ask the members to rate the maps they play and give some feedback. Some do, some don't.
To Tigris:
We would love to get involved with a tournament site and allow tournament and online players to get maps they have never seen or played before. If our links were allowed to appear on these sites, the amount of traffic from the Archives on these threads would diminish drastically. ( Unless something of news or something new were news worthy of course.)
But some of the more established Tournament Web sites may balk at having "Group Sites" on their Web pages. Not all. We are working directly with and not against all Web sites for HoMM3 and WoG. We do not step on or over the boundaries of these sites. We work with all. We even offer maps to these sites to post on their sites.
And it's true. The Archives are also a "workshop" for up and coming mapmakers and translators. We offer every tool imaginable to improve or make a map.
Now, I am NOT advertising here. We just want to help the HoMM3 Community enjoy the game more and more.
Thank you for response and if any Tournament site would like our cooperation they will have it. :-)

How to make rumors work:
Open a map in the editor (or create a new one).
On the menu bar, click on "tools", and then on "map specifications". The upcoming window has 11 tabs. The one to the very left in the top row is called "Rumors".
Click on it, and then click on "add". Now u can add a rumor by giving it a name, and a specific text. Press "ok", then the rumor will be saved. You can add new ones now, or just keep this single one. If u play a game on that map now, one of our rumors will appear in the tavern.

I don't know the specific number for the ratio of created rumours with that of computer generated rumours though.

Rumors are when shown?
When you play the game normally after setting the rumors in the editor, what is the chance the rumor you have set in the editor to be shown in the Tavern? For example, if i have set "1" rumor then what should be the chance to get the message shown? Maybe a percentage will give me what i look for else another way that displays the chance of seeing the message in the Tavern..
