Seriously though, I understand nobody really cares for the Archer. True, the unit is a must and has been there from the very beginning, but each version was fine. I guess you can't miss it...!
I voted for H3 myself - I loved the white-and-blue uniform and the chainmail. Again, others were fine, too - including the latest rendition.

The H5 models look awesome, with the H3 Marksmen not too far behind. The H2 version is nothing special, and the H1 version looks too aged and wimpy.

Homm5 definately, they have this "Don't mess with me" look . And that armour suits it perfectly.

The first one is just.. no.
H2 is too much like an elf..
I don't mind H3, but nothing special.
H4 is good, and so is H5.

H1 looks a little too aged to me.
H2 looks like a Robinwood clone.
H3 and H4 look nice.
This time they didi it right: H5 archer looks very nice...

I always had a pitty for archers , 'cause they were always caught in the middle...), but looking at the h5 version it does show at least a bit stronger than the allready familiar versions...guess that all heaven units look stronger now...even that peasant

HOMM I Archers look funny, as they are old! (well, maybe that's the only duty men their age can do, as they do not need to carry heavy armor or engage in melee combat).
HOMM II Archers and Rangers are great, because they are women! (they are, right?!) nothing like this seen in HOMM again, a sex change!
HOMM III Archers, Marksmen, and Sharpshooters are all great, so are the more realistic looking HOMM IV Crossbow men.
But for me, the new Archer & Marksman are best. They look good, sound good, have great abilities for creatures of their level, and I love the fact that for the 1st time the Archer actualy "Evolves" into a Marksman with a crossbow (yey technology!), changing in looks, stats and abilities!

the HOMM2 Archers are not Women if you hear their sounds when they die, it sounds like a boy, now a girl wouldn't die and scream like a boy would they?
I voted for heroes 3 archers because they look really coool

I voted H5 simply for the good details and 3D look
H3s were close... I love sharpshooters 
personally I think they should have used the sharpshooter model for H5

not fair...
i voted H5 ...but i think putting the Sharpshooters there is very unfair, if anything, they should go to the Elves... considering who their hero was... now if you count them as Archers... 3D or not, Sharpshooters rock

I like Heroes 5 ARCHER, NOT marksman. The H3 archers have fat butts 
And yeah, sharpshooters shouldnt have been included, they are not archers! they're neutral!
