The gameplay of HOMM3 was already excellent. If they took from that, and based on the great new graphics they have put in, I would be very happy.

There was nothing fundamentally wrong with HOMM3 gameplay. I could play that game for hours. The next thing I would look up and it would be 3 am already.

HOMM4 didn't do that to me. I couldn't even finish the campaign.

Improving on an already excellent gameplay doesn't mean changing it entirely to something else. Look at lots of the great series. They kept lots of the original elements.

Like civilsation, age of empires series.

Adding too much complexity does not necessarily make gameplay better. Take having 7 units in the battlefield. 7 is a decent number. Have too many and each battle would take too long and be too complicated. Have too few and there would not be enough tactical elements.

So, I am fine if they based it mostly on HOMM3 gameplay.
