Can you attack artifact locations?
I am just reading through the rules before trying to play for the first time.
From my initial reading, it seems possible for another player to attack an artifact location you have already looted. Is that intended? I suspect it is not, since it makes little sense to place the artifact under your hero if that is possible. If this is not possible, then it would be nice to have different markers for locations vs artifacts.

Not sure exactly what you mean here about placing the artifact under the hero. My suggestion is stop reading the rules and just play the game! You will learn as you go. Which version of the game are you playing Heroes III, IV?
Once you have the artifact, if you die in battle than the hero that defeated you gets the artifact. Is that what you mean?

I'm referring to the HOMM 4 CCG, not the computer game. I just got finished playing a game on the computer of HOMM 4. :-)

Once an artifact is claimed by a hero, the location marker is flipped upside down. The location is then empty. The enemy can take your artifact if they kill you though, if they have a hero in their army.

Thanks! That makes sense. I didn't see that (flipping the location marker) mentioned in the rules. If it truly is not there, you should add that. It is common sense, but since rules do not always follow common sense, it is good to mention that.

I had some problem with that too, but we figured that the location just became worthless/irrelevant.
